🚚 *We’re Moving!*🚚

TC Vet is moving to our new building!

The long wait is finally over! TC Vet will be officially moved to our new Albion location at 2572 State Hwy 14 on Monday, December 18! Starting at noon on Friday December 15th through 1pm on Monday December 18th we will be taking emergencies only at the Albion location to allow time for the move. We will also have staff available for product pickup Friday afternoon and Saturday morning during normal business hours. Monday morning we will be closed at all locations for staff training. Tuesday will be our feline Spay/Neuter clinic.

Our separate entrance for boarding on the South side of the building will be coming soon! For now all clients will use the main entrance on the West side but stay tuned!

Thank you all for your patience during our transition. We hope you all love the new space as much as we do! We can’t wait to see all of you and your pets and livestock in a space made especially for their comfort and yours!

As always, thank you for partnering with TC Vet for your veterinary needs! This is a much needed facility improvement and without you none of this would be possible! Feel free to stop in and say hello and take a look around!

TC Vet Clinic is currently seeking full and part-time Boarding/Grooming Assistants for our brand-new facility located in Albion, NE. Potential candidates will be responsible for answering phones, scheduling boarding appointments, and caring for the beloved pets that are vacationing with us. Full-time candidate hours will be 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday with weekend and holiday rotation. Part-time candidates' hours will vary with potential hours during the week, weekend and holiday rotation. Grooming experience or the willingness to obtain training for grooming a plus. We are willing to train all prospective candidates. Must be 16 years of age or older.

🔘 I truly have a lot of great memories with TC Vet, but the Bark-BBQs we have at the clinic in the summer, and the community events throughout the year are some of my favorites!

If you were to give one piece of advice to someone outside of this career field, what would it be?
🔘 If you think you might be interested in a veterinary career – be fearless! This is an exciting and forever evolving profession for all the changes and challenges it faces. Despite what most may think- in clinical practice, the job can be physically and mentally challenging but it can also be the most rewarding and passion driven job you could have!

What are some of your favorite hobbies or things to do outside of TC Vet?
🔘 Spending time with family, traveling, attending games and watching a variety of sports, dirt track racing, and volunteering.

🔅 Too many favorite memories to count. One that stands out of course is when we brought our dog Annie home. Many memories of her being loved by staff and family. She has now passed but thankful for the 11 great years we had with her.

▪️ Make sure you have the will power to not bring every stray animal home.

▪️ Spending time with family and friends, camping, photography, going to concerts, watching K-State football.

What are some of your favorite hobbies or things to do outside of TC Vet?
📍In my spare time you could find me fishing, playing video games, watching Disney movies, and playing cards. I enjoy tending to my dog, cats, fish, chickens and many houseplants. Most of all, I love spending time with my family and making new memories with them.

🔅Trap-Neuter-Return (TR) is the only method proven to be humane and effective in controlling free-roaming cat population growth. 🔅

TR is about:
• Population control and permanently reducing the number of cats in an area.

• Lowering cat intake into shelters, thereby lowering shelter euthanasia rates.

• Reducing the spread of disease.

A sweep tub has been added to our cattle facility in Albion!
What is a sweep tub, you may ask?

A sweep tub is a circular crowding area with totally enclosed sides and crowding gate with only visible routes to the animal being through the alleyway leading to the squeeze chute or the loadout.

✔️ Solid crowding gate intermittently moving in a forward position to a closed postion, encouraging the cattle to exit the crowding area.
✔️ The circular designs take advantage of cattle’s tendency to circle and crowd toward the outside of a curved passage.
✔️ Encourages the cattle to move in a continuous flow toward the squeeze chute.
✔️Solid enclosures shield the animals’ vision from distractions outside the working area while focusing their attention on moving out of the crowding tub.

This sweep tub will allow us to work your cattle in a more safe, stress free, and organizational manner allowing the cattle to move better with more efficiency!

August was National Immunization Month! Question #3 & 4 👇🏻

• What are some types of vaccines?
• How often should pets get vaccinated?

To provide the best protection against disease during the first months of life, your veterinarian will recommend a series of vaccinations, usually 2-4 weeks apart. For most puppies and kittens, the final vaccination in the series is given at about 4 months of age.

Your veterinarian may adjust this schedule based on your pet’s circumstances and needs.

• “Core” vaccines: recommended for all dogs and cats, unless there’s a medical need not to vaccinate.
• “Non-core" vaccines: recommended for certain pets based on their risk of exposure to the disease, such as through their lifestyle or geographic location.

For example, vaccination against Lyme disease is recommended for dogs that live or travel to areas where the disease-carrying ticks are found. Bordetella and canine influenza vaccines are recommended for dogs that visit places where other dogs gather, like boarding, daycare, and training facilities.
