HELLO TO OUR CLIENTS AND THOSE THAT ARE INQUIRING ABOUT OUR SERVICES. Below you will find a copy of an email we received from our State Licensing Bureau.
From us:
Shelby and I will continue to monitor on a day-by-day basis whether we continue our current scheduled clients. This is a time in history for us all. We have procedures in place that include:
Social Distancing.
We ask that you meet us at the mobile door on the curbside with your pet and hand us the leash. We ask that you meet us either outside the shop door as well. We ask if you see someone else is there, please wait in your car until they leave. You should have our cell numbers and can always text us as well.
Disinfecting procedures:
We will clean the collar and leash with a mild soap, bleach or with spray disinfectant. If you wish for us to not do this then ask for us to hand that back to you. We disinfectant our hands, clothing, all equipment, doors and floors after you leave. We stay safe with masks and will groom during the entire process with these on. Our equipment is sanitized prior to the next clients fur baby. I dont have any information if thise virus attaches to pets coats, so we will do all and more as we continue operations.
Your decision:
We are doing all we can to be sure you do not contract this from us. We ask that if you do not feel well, a headache, sore throat, sniffles, etc that you contact us to reschedule. ALSO!!! If you have been exposed to the virus from your workplace, your family that has traveled back from any known "HOT Spots" in the nation, please call us to reschedule. We will DO THE SAME.
Current Scheduled clients:
This is the hard part. If we have to be shut down, via our regulatory body or the Govenor or the Federal Government, we will contact you ASAP. How we will handle this when life resume a normal situation, we will work extra hours and days. I know all of you understand this and a hearty THANK YOU from me and Shelby.
FINALLY, this is your decision solely to bring your pet to us and we will do all we can to continue working as long as we can. We love you all and your fur babies. It is stressful for us all and our deepest concern is that everyone stay safe!!!!

Guidance for Facilities Handling Animals and Interacting with the Public
Issued March 25, 2020
๏ปฟ
COVID-19 is currently circulating in Iowa communities. All Iowa businesses have a responsibility to take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It is critical that any business that interacts with people and animals institute immediate changes to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among staff and people that enter the facility. The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) and the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) strongly recommend that all businesses that handle animals and interact with the public adhere to the following guidance. ๏ปฟ
๏ปฟ
Critically evaluate each function of the business, eliminate interactions between people, and incorporate social distancing. The following protective measures should be incorporated into daily business activities:
ยท ยท Sick employees and volunteers should stay home.
ยท Screen all persons entering the business by asking if they have a fever or respiratory illness. If anyone indicates that they have been ill or is visibly showing signs of illness (i.e., coughing and sneezing), deny entry into the facility.
ยท Restrict or minimize public access to the facility. Put into place practices to eliminate or minimize staff and public interactions (i.e. meet people at car side, close waiting rooms, accept electronic payments, etc.).
ยท Implement internal business practices to eliminate or minimize interactions between employees (i.e. stagger shifts, clean and disinfect stations during and between shifts, separate work stations, stagger breaks, schedule drop off appointments).
ยท Create backup plans with employees/volunteers and check availability to see who can assist during a potential staff shortage. This could include:
o Prioritize critical functions and develop plans to operate at reduced staff numbers.
o Cross train employees/volunteers to backfill vacancies caused by illness.
o Identify additional employees/volunteers that could help fill vacancies.
ยท Implement biosecurity practices that include frequent hand washing, frequent sanitizing of common areas, and no shared items between people.
o Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
o If soap and water are not readily available, a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol can be used.
ยท Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects, surfaces, and common areas with a EPA-registered disinfectant effective against COVID-19.
All Iowans have a responsibility to mitigate the impact of this public health crisis.
