Meet Estevan, one of our talented Customer Service Representatives! He officially started working with us in 2017, but interned and volunteered starting back in 2015. He has two dogs that love their long walks in the Bosque.
Fun fact: his favorite non-pet animal is a frog!
Meet Dr. Barnes!
Born and raised in Albuquerque, Dr. Rachel Barnes received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2013. Dr. Barnes’ interests include exotic animals (reptiles in particular) and small animal internal medicine. Outside of work she enjoys reading, playing tennis, and watching anime.

Meet Dr. Rodriguez! She attended veterinary school at Colorado State University and graduated in 2005. Dr. Rodriguez has a special interest in multimodal pain management as well as senior/geriatric care. In her free time, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys spending time with the world’s cutest chihuahua, Pinky.

Meet Nico! He’s a sweet senior Labrador Retriever and beloved companion of our fabulous veterinarian, Dr. Ochoa. His hobbies include hiking and sunbathing. Nico is always ready to greet everyone with a wagging tail!
Ginger (pictured) visited us recently for her kitten vaccines. Kittens, much like us, face the risk of contracting various diseases that could seriously impact their health. With each vaccine, we are providing Ginger with the protection she needs to explore the world with confidence!

Introducing Izzy, the lovable King Charles Cavalier Spaniel cherished by our medical director! King Charles Cavaliers were named after King Charles II of England, who had a deep affection for these little canines and was rarely seen without one in his company.
Gilbert the guinea pig visited our hospital recently to be examined by Dr. Barnes! Did you know that guinea pigs have teeth that grow continuously? Because of this, it is important to provide them with plenty of chew toys and fibrous foods in order to prevent dental problems.
Pip is here today for her pre-dental exam! Her facial expression says it all. Oral hygiene is a serious matter!
Meet Andrew, our exceptional Lead Veterinary Technician! Andrew has been in the veterinary field since 2011. He graduated from CNM’s Veterinary Technology program to become a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2015. Prior to joining our team, he worked at Blue Cross Animal Clinic for 9 ½ years.

Rio Bravo Veterinary Hospital is looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician. If you are an animal lover who also enjoys people and has excellent customer service skills, we encourage you to apply.
Requirements include: Vet Tech certification or three years relevant experience. Being a team player, patient restraint, blood draws, IVC placement, surgical prep, anesthesia induction and monitoring, assisting in surgery, laboratory skills, taking radiographs and client education.
Spanish-speaking is a big plus. Some Saturdays are required.
