STAFF PET HIGHLIGHT!
Meet Olivia! About a year ago, she was rescued as a tiny kitten by one of our compassionate technicians, Alexis. This sweet girl has a unique passion for legos and will choose them over any toy. Her playful spirit and non-stop purring make her an absolute favorite around here. We’re so lucky to have Olivia as part of our clinic family!

Meet our Medical Director! Dr. Jenny Sprott-Smith is a very proud graduate of Clemson University. She attended Mississippi State University for veterinary school and graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2013.

Meet Dr. Hansen! She was originally born in Würzburg, Germany and moved to Las Cruces at a young age. She always had a passion for helping animals and started working in veterinary clinics while in high school where her love for veterinary medicine started. Her special interests include preventive medicine, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. She strives to foster the human animal bond and creating long-lasting relationships with her clients.

Meet Estevan, one of our talented Customer Service Representatives! He officially started working with us in 2017, but interned and volunteered starting back in 2015. He has two dogs that love their long walks in the Bosque.
Fun fact: his favorite non-pet animal is a frog!

Meet Dr. Barnes!

Born and raised in Albuquerque, Dr. Rachel Barnes received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2013. Dr. Barnes’ interests include exotic animals (reptiles in particular) and small animal internal medicine. Outside of work she enjoys reading, playing tennis, and watching anime.

Meet Dr. Rodriguez! She attended veterinary school at Colorado State University and graduated in 2005. Dr. Rodriguez has a special interest in multimodal pain management as well as senior/geriatric care. In her free time, Dr. Rodriguez enjoys spending time with the world’s cutest chihuahua, Pinky.

Gilbert the guinea pig visited our hospital recently to be examined by Dr. Barnes! Did you know that guinea pigs have teeth that grow continuously? Because of this, it is important to provide them with plenty of chew toys and fibrous foods in order to prevent dental problems.
