‼️🐶 ADOPT ME 🐶‼️

Temple
~1 year old
Female, Bulldog Mix
Will be fully vetted upon adoption

***CROSS POST. CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION WITH Albuquerque Animal Welfare WESTSIDE ID: A1923731 ***

Meet Temple, the short and stout little “piggy” dog you didn’t know you needed in your life. She’s got every bulldog trait you’ve ever dreamed of!!! the adorable piggy grunts, the hilarious couch-jumping fails, the tippy tappys when she gets excited, and of course, the heat intolerance that makes her the perfect lazy-day cuddle buddy on hot afternoons. Temple has been waiting in the shelter for 110 days, constantly overlooked, and she deserves so much more than a kennel run. Temple was given a sleepover at a PKR volunteer’s house and here is what we learned! The longer she waits, the more at risk she becomes… shelter life is NEVER a permanent solution for any dog… and certainly not a people loving dog like Temple! For the record, in this bio we will be using “bulldog” in reference to both English Bulldogs and American Bullies, as we believe she is mostly one or both of those and her traits and behaviors align closely!

🐾 Dogs: Temple is dog friendly but still working on her manners. Like many bulldogs, she can be stiff when meeting new dogs, and combined with her forward personality, it doesn’t always land well with every pup. Because of this, we consider her more dog selective right now. With a spay, decompression, and guidance, we believe her doggie social skills will improve and she could do well with a dog friend in the future. She takes both human and dog corrections nicely and just needs time and patience from her adopter. She got QUICKLY attached to the volunteer that took her home and got a little jealous when the other dogs tried to cuddle with the human. So strict and firm boundaries from the getgo will go A LONG way for her if a doggy sibling is in her future! 110 days of minimal interaction with humans… we think a little jealousy is warranted, but certainly needs to be nipped in the bud immediately! Her dog to dog is VERY bulldog-esque so an experienced bulldog owner will likely not think twice. But she doesn’t necessarily need an adopter with bulldog experience.

🐱 Cats: Temple did great during her sleepover with a sassy cat and an easygoing cat. She was respectful and handled both personalities just fine!

👶 Kids & Humans: Temple is a stage 5 clinger with humans. Stranger? What’s that? In Temple’s world, every person she meets is instantly her best friend. She absolutely adores all people, kids included.

🛏️ Crate: Temple did okay in her crate overnight, though she wasn’t shy about voicing her opinion at first. Who can blame her? After 110 days in the shelter, she finally got a night out, only to have to spend it in a crate!

❤️ Personality & other details: Temple is equal parts energy and laziness. At about a year old, she’s still playful and fun, but she’s also perfectly happy to flop down and snore away an afternoon. Her confidence is unmatched, so much so that she’ll attempt to jump on the couch several times, only to pause halfway with her front half up and back half dangling, totally convinced her stubby little legs just can’t make it 🤣 She will keep you laughing daily with her goofy, bulldog ways.

🏡 Why Temple? Temple has been waiting far too long. After 110 days in the shelter, she deserves a forever family who will cherish her silly quirks, bulldog charm, and unconditional love. She’s a piggy in a dog’s body, a best friend in the making, and a snuggler extraordinaire who will give you her whole heart.

Please contact AWD and/or visit Temple at the Westside shelter! Let’s help this long time girly find a home!

Adoptable Scarlett got a medal for being the goodest girl on her treadmill! JK. It’s actually not hers but she looks so proud so…!!!

This active girly thrives with exercise and with her foster being in an apartment and working full time, a treadmill has been a great option to keeping her exercise needs fulfilled! Which goes to show… fostering or adopting a dog doesn’t need to be impossible if you think your activity level or living situation isn’t ideal! We encourage anyone that is wanting to help make a difference to reach out about fostering or adopting! Whether that is specifically Scarlett or other dogs in need! There are so many 🙂

So congrats to Scarlett for winning first place, right??🤣

Reminder! Never leave a dog unsupervised and tethered with a treadmill! It can be very dangerous

‼️🐶 ADOPT ME 🐶‼️

Cardi
~1 year old
~40 lbs, Pitbull mix
Will be fully vetted upon adoption

***CROSS POST. CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION WITH Albuquerque Animal Welfare***

Cardi has been in the shelter for nearly a month now, and she came in with her sibling, Rihanna. Before her recent sleepover with a volunteer, Cardi had almost no notes on her behavior with dogs or cats. Thanks to that time out of the shelter, we’ve learned some more about this sweet girl, and now we’re hoping her forever humans will see her potential and bring her home!

🐾 Dogs: Cardi SEEMS to be dog-selective… but this might be related to a lack of slow intros, shelter stress, or being intact and possibly in heat. She may do best with an easygoing male sibling. While she takes corrections, she can get a little frustrated and doesn’t necessarily love other dogs up in her business, even if it’s just smelling (again. Might be intact behavior related!) so a calm and confident dog buddy may be her best match. It’s important to know that slow intros, decompression, and being spayed may have a significant impact on her socialability with other dogs. She is good on leash and seems non reactive to other dogs so walks/apartment life/etc may be just fine in her future! She loves humans so much that a dog sibling doesnt seem necessary in her future!

🐱 Cats: Cardi would likely do best in a home without cats. She tolerated one assertive adult cat but was less appropriate with laid-back or kitten-age cats.

👶 Kids: Cardi is still very young and with structure and practice, her manners will continue to improve.

🛏️ Crate: Cardi did great in her crate during her time out of the shelter and seemed to see it as her safe space.

❤️ Personality & other details: Cardi is full of pitty antics and will make you laugh daily, especially when her b***y can’t quite keep up with her zoomies! She loves toys, has a playful spirit, and is eager to learn. With her young age, she has so much potential and just needs the right family to guide her. Cardi showed signs of being potentially puppy-nippy when excited, but she already seems to know she shouldn’t. She has a great personality and will turn into a wonderful dog with some structure and love!

🏡 Why Cardi? This girl has been waiting in the shelter far too long, and she’s ready for her chance at a forever home. We would love to see her get that forever before she starts to regress in the shelter environment. With her goofy personality, affectionate nature, and eagerness to learn, Cardi will make a loyal and loving addition to the right family. Could that be you?

🐶 contact the city shelter or go visit her at the Eastside to welcome her in as your forever pup!

Male, neutered, will be fully vetted upon adoption
Orange/white Domestic Shorthair

Meet Frodo! This little adventurer may not be carrying a ring to Mordor, but he is on a journey to find his very own forever home. Frodo is a playful, curious, and endlessly charming kitten who brings joy to every moment. Whether he’s chasing toys, exploring new corners, or curling up in your lap, Frodo makes every day feel like an adventure worth taking.

At just 12 weeks old, Frodo is equal parts mischief and love. He purrs easily, seeks out his humans, and is happiest when he’s by your side. Don’t be surprised if he tries to follow you everywhere—he’s a loyal little companion through and through.

Dogs: dog friendly! He currently lives with several dogs of all sizes and temperaments.

Cats: cat friendly! He needs a feline friend and is quite sad now that his 2 littermates, Bilbo and Samwise, are adopted. He loves to give other kitties kisses! Frodo gets along well with other cats and should adapt nicely

Kids: kid friendly! Would do just fine in a home with respectful kiddos.! He’s young, adaptable, and ready to grow up in a family who will love him forever.

If you’re ready to welcome a brave little hobbit into your home, Frodo will be the perfect addition to your fellowship. 💍🐾
