September 16-22 is Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week. Believe it or not, most of our furry and feathered team here started as "less than adoptable" pets. So we wanted to highlight the importance of considering pets with special needs and offer some guidance to those considering bringing these special animals into their homes. If you have ever welcomed a pet with special needs into your life, please share your advice and experiences in the comments to help those considering adopting!

Lets talk about mucous membranes! Fun fact: the color of your pet's gums can give you a lot of insight into their overall health. If their gums are cherry red, it could mean they're overheated, but it could also indicate they are suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning.
