What an incredible ride this first year has been! So far this journey has taken us across 3 states and allowed us to share life-saving knowledge of pet first aid and CPR with 59 people! We are so grateful to everyone who has supported and helped us along the way. Thank you to the pet first aid instructors who allowed us to join and assist with their own classes, the pet care facilities that invited us to teach their teams, and the businesses that opened their doors to host training or share information with their communities. Most importantly, we are so thankful to everyone who joined us in class this past year. We have met so many amazing people and are grateful to each of you for being a part of this journey with us. Thank you all for your support, and stay tuned for updates and schedules for upcoming classes posted soon! We can't wait to see where the next year takes us!
Fun Facts Lights
Electric lights were first used on a Christmas tree just a few years after Thomas Edison patented the light bulb. However, it took a few more decades for the trend to become popular and widely available to the general public. In 1895, President Grover Cleveland helped get the ball rolling by being the first president to request that the White House family Christmas tree be illuminated with hundreds of multi-colored electric light bulbs.
Them Turkey's Though!
Did you know wild turkeys have better eyesight than humans? They can also see colors not visible to the human eye! A wild turkey's retina has seven different types of photoreceptors (the human retinas have four), meaning they can perceive a more extensive and richer spectrum of colors than humans and other mammals. They also have monocular vision, meaning their eyes can function independently from each other, giving them a 270-360-degree field of vision at all times!
