For the 10th Save of Christmas, weāre celebrating Vanilla, a sweet 12-year-old girl with fur as white as snow, perfect for this time of year. After her beloved owner passed away, Vanilla was entrusted to someone who promised to care for herābut instead, she was surrendered to the shelter, leaving this senior girl heartbroken and confused.
When we saw her sad face, we knew we couldnāt let her story end there. Now safe at JSCR, weāve promised to give Vanilla the life her owner intended her to have. After several vet visits, we learned Vanillaās squinty eyes are just part of her unique charmāsheās completely healthy. Now, she spends her days sleeping with her foster mom, and when her foster mom gets up in the middle of the night, Vanilla follows her and races her back to bed, as if to say, āYouāre not going anywhere without me!ā
Your support makes stories like Vanillaās possible. Thank you for being part of her journey!
If youād like to help cats like Vanilla, monetary donations or wishlist items are a great way to contribute! š

Delilah, an 11-year-old cat, came to JSCR after the passing of her beloved owner. At 19.6 lbs, she needed a special foster home without other animals. Thankfully, she found her perfect match in a devoted foster mom.
Over time, Delilah shed both weight and the sadness she carried. Sheās now a playful, purring biscuit-making machine, and when her foster mom leaves, Delilah drags her slippers into the living room, saying, āPlease stay home with me.ā
But the story doesnāt end there. Delilahās love has helped her foster mom heal from profound grief and loneliness. Theyāve become each otherās support system, lifting one another out of their heartache. Delilahās quiet love and unwavering presence have helped her foster mom rediscover hope and joy.
This bond is a testament to the power of rescue ā not just for the animals, but for the humans who open their hearts to them. Their story is one of how love can shine light into the darkest places.
You can help continue these life-changing transformations by donating from our wishlist or contributing a monetary donation. Every gift makes a difference, one cat at a time.

š Seventh Save of Christmas: Meet Hummer š
At 19 years old, Hummer is a true gentleman, living up to every bit of his tuxedo attire. After his owner passed away, Hummerās family reached out to JSCR for help. They loved him deeply but couldnāt keep him themselves. Thankfully, Megan and Jason stepped forward to become Hummerās Forever Fosters, welcoming him into their hearts and home.
Hummer quickly became part of the family, winning over his new kitty siblings. Now Hummer lives his best life. Heās a great communicator, letting everyone know when he needs his heating pad turned on or when itās mealtime. His favorite sitting in Meganās lap and āyellingā at birds and squirrels outside. No trespassing allowed! š¾
Though Hummer thoroughly enjoys his golden years, his health requires extra care due to kidney disease. Megan and Jason are dedicated to keeping him comfortable and happy.
Hummerās story shows just how vital fosters are to our work. Without them, cats like Hummer might not have a second chance. Your donations help provide for senior cats like Hummer, ensuring they get the special care they deserve. Please consider donating from our wishlists. Help us continue giving senior cats the second chances they are so worthy of. Thank you for your support! ā¤ļø

š On the 6th Save of Christmas, we got Bootsie! This sweet 13-year-old cat was surrendered to the shelter with Betsy and Autumn. When we first met Bootsie, she was heartbreakingly shy and shut down, too scared to even look around. Shelters are overwhelming places, especially for seniors, and we knew her fear meant sheād be waiting a long time for a home. We couldnāt let that happen!
Once in her foster home, Bootsie retreated into hiding, with only occasional sightings while dashing back to her hiding place. But after 38 days, something magical happenedāBootsie decided to trust. She finally emerged, eager for pets and affection, and from that moment, she blossomed into the social butterfly we know today! š¦ Now, Bootsie is full of love, always ready to talk, cuddle, and eat. š
This holiday season, you can help us continue our work by donating items from our wish list or contributing gift cards. Your support ensures cats like Bootsie get the care they need to thrive in a loving home. Thank you for being part of this life-changing journey! šš

For our Fourth Save of Christmas, we honor Autumn, a 19-year-old who came to us alongside her friends, Bootsie and Betsy. Despite being in poor healthāthin, dehydrated, and rotting teethāAutumn had a bright spirit that made it impossible not to love her.
She received urgent medical care and bounced back, but her age and condition made her ineligible for dental surgery. She spent six weeks in a loving foster home, with her own fluffy bed, all the food she could eat, and the love of her foster parents. Sadly, Autumnās health declined further, and we discovered she was diabetic, anemic, and suffering from dental pain. With heavy hearts, we made the tough decision to let her go peacefully.
Autumnās warmth and sweet personality touched everyone she met, including the vet who remarked on her bright spirit. While we miss her, we continue to care for her āsiblingsā Betsy and Bootsie, who will be featured in the days ahead of our 12 Saves of Christmas campaign.
This holiday season, we invite you to help make a difference in the lives of senior cats like Autumn. You can support their care by donating from our wishlist. Whether itās litter, food, or supplies, every donation helps us give these special felines the care and comfort they need. Thank you for helping us honor Autumnās memory.

On the Third Save of Christmasā¦We Present Logan.
Loganās story started in a large cat colony where he was found with severely infected eyes. Despite all efforts, his eyes were beyond repair, and he had to undergo the devastating procedure of having both removed.
While we were heartbroken by his circumstances, Logan wasnāt one to wallow in pity. Instead, he showed us his zest for life couldnāt be dampened. It wasnāt long before Samm, one of the loving vet techs who cared for him, knew she had to adopt this little fighter.
Logan, affectionately called āSir Logan the Popeye Monsterā, is now living life to the fullest. His blindness doesnāt hold back his orange cat mischief. He keeps Samm on her toes by getting into everything, snoring, and biting every now and then (he calls it love nibbles), but his snuggles are legendary and totally worth any trouble he may cause!
Logan reminds us to seize every moment, no matter the circumstances. Please help us continue rescuing cats like Logan by donating to our wishlist, especially cat litter, which we desperately need. Every contribution counts!
Thank you for supporting our work! ā¤ļø

For our second Save of Christmas, we bring you a double feature, Sly & Nikoātwo sweet, deserving boys with a story to warm your heart. These companions were living outdoors in a cat colony when their devoted caretaker, a senior who was moving into assisted living, reached out to JSCR for help finding new homes for the many cats in her care.
Sly, a friendly 10-year-old, was the first to catch our eye. Without hesitation, he walked straight into a kennel, eager for a new life. Recognizing the immense change he was about to face, we knew he needed a friend for comfort and stability. Thatās when Niko, a 5-year-old with a heart of gold, made it clear heād like to join the family, too.
Both boys were fully vetted at JSCR, and Sly received much-needed surgery for cherry eye, a painful condition where the eyelid rolls inward and irritates the eye. Now, they are both thriving in their new lives, happily living indoors with their devoted foster parents, Vera and Holly. Just look at their photosātheyāve clearly found peace, joy, and the love they deserve.
With the holiday season fast approaching, Sly and Niko would be incredibly grateful if you could share their story and perhaps make a donation from our wishlist. Your donations ensure our seniors have everything they need, especially food and litter. Letās make this Christmas a little brighter for Sly, Niko, and all the cats who call JSCR home!

This holiday season, weāre sharing the stories of 12 cats saved in 2024. Our first Save of Christmas is Mathias, who came to JSCR after years on the streets. He was frail, matted, and facing serious health challenges, including FeLV and FIV. Despite the odds, Mathias thrived! He gained weight, played, and even discovered a love for painting. His āresting grump faceā stole the hearts of many, and his sweet spirit filled us with joy for six wonderful months. Mathiasās journey is a reminder of the difference love can make.
As we continue to care for cats like Mathias, we humbly ask for your support. Your donationsāwhether through our wishlist or a monetary giftāallow us to provide life-saving care, food, and the love these animals need to thrive. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference for the many cats in our care. Thank you for helping us continue the work that made Mathias' story possible.

Today is DĆa de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. It is a holiday that celebrates life and death with colorful festivities and the belief that those whoāve passed can visit their families during this time. This is a sentiment near and dear to our hearts. Being a senior cat rescue means we say lots of painful goodbyes, and it helps to think, one way or another, they are never far away. So, we are taking today to celebrate the lives of the many special kitties who found sanctuary and love here at Juneās Senior Cat Rescue. They are never far from our minds and remain firmly in our hearts. We will love them forever.
We hope you take a minute today to remember fondly the felines who left footprints on your heart. š¾ā¤ļøš¾
