VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital and Referral Center, has been serving Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and the surrounding counties and communities since 1982.

We are proud to offer the most comprehensive advanced care in our 22,000 square foot, American Animal Hospital Assocation (AAHA) accredited veterinary facility. We offer a full complement of specialty services including Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Surgery, ensuring that every patient receives the highest quality veterinary care available. Our hospital is also accredited by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) and is certified a Cat Friendly Practice Gold.

VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital & Referral Center invites you to honor your beloved pets on Dia de los Mu***os. 🐾

This beautiful tradition was celebrated initially in Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Día de los Mu***os has grown in popularity in the United States. In our lobby, we will have ofrendas translated as altars in English. The ofrenda will be decorated with cherished items of our past loved family members, including, i.e., pictures, collars, favorite pet toys.

It is believed that during the celebration, past pets' souls cross back to Earth and are guided to their families through offerings at the ofrenda. So please come by and bring mementos to place at the ofrenda to honor your precious pets that are no longer with us but still in our hearts. 💗

It’s been six years since Jake had his spleen removed in 2018. No one would have thought he would survive this long after his hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Then came the thyroid cancer and the lymphoma.

5,845 days and he is still with us. We owe it to the excellent care the Oncology and Internal Medicine teams have given Jake over the last six years. Jake added the will to live and the remarkable strength he showed as he went through numerous rounds of chemotherapy, tests and medication.

Thank you and your teams for helping my Jake.

We have moved! We are now at 8850 Holly Ave NE, Ste. K, Albuquerque, NM 87122.

The VCA Vet Care team has been working hard to ensure we are ready to see patients at our new location As soon as possible. We have had some minor construction related delays but we will be open very soon!

We are taking it day by day at this time but we expect to be open within days. We will keep everyone in the community updated on our exact opening date; please look for another communication soon.

We are sorry to announce that the hospital's reopening date has been delayed!

The hospital will temporarily close starting Friday, August 9th, and reopen Friday, August 16th.

On Monday, August 12th, during the hospital's closure, we want to assure you that we will maintain communication with clients via inbound or outbound phone calls, reaffirming our commitment to their pets' care.

While in the new building, we cannot see patients or dispense medications until Friday, August 16th.

We truly appreciate everyone's patience while we transition to the new building!
