February is National Pet Dental Health Month! 🦷🐱

Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions (FORLs) are a common and painful dental disease in cats. They start as tiny red spots at the gumline but can progress to severe tooth destruction, as seen in this case. The cause is still unknown, and the only treatment is extraction.

Many cats with FORLs show no obvious signs of pain, so regular dental exams are key to early detection. If your cat has bad breath, drools, or avoids eating, it could be a sign of dental disease. Stay informed and keep an eye on your cat’s oral health!

📞😺 It seems our phone lines are experiencing a bit of “cat-tastrophe!” Some of our clients have reported they can’t hear us when they call—don’t worry, we’re not ghosting you! This issue seems to come and go, and we’ve already called in the pros (not the cat pictured!) to fix it. A technician will be on-site Monday to get everything back in purr-fect working order.

In the meantime, feel free to reach us at [email protected] for any questions or scheduling needs. Thank you for your patience! 🐾✨

🚨 CAT BITE ALERT 🚨
Did you know a cat bite is more than just a love nibble gone wrong? When those tiny teeth puncture the skin, they pack a big punch, introducing bacteria deep into the tissue. 🦷😿 If you're bitten, wash the area immediately and seek medical attention—even small bites can cause serious infections. Use toys instead of your hands. Let’s keep those claws and paws playful, not painful! ❤️🐾

We are proud to highlight two of our talented Registered Veterinary Technicians, Jessica and Brianna, who recently attended the Southwest Veterinary Symposium in Dallas-Fort Worth. This event provided an excellent opportunity for them to expand their knowledge and skills, ensuring they continue to deliver the highest level of care to our patients. We deeply appreciate the dedication and expertise our technicians bring to the hospital and are always excited to support their professional growth through experiences like this symposium.

Foxy first came to the Albuquerque Cat Clinic with an embedded tooth in his chest, which we believe came from an encounter with a skunk! We’re happy to report that he’s now doing much better. Thank you, Foxy, for helping keep our neighborhoods safe from those stray critters!🦨
