Baby watch begins for our final cria of the year!
We prefer to have early June cria but Small Town Charm opened up last year after a string of July heat. We threw her in with our herdsire, Doctor P, in August one time as a ‘Hail Mary’ attempt of getting her covered. It was obviously successfully and we’re on the countdown until she pops 🤞 We’re on day 353 of gestation.
The llamas were so excited to get back out onto pasture! ☀️ 🦙
If you smiled at this video, go ahead and give our page a 👍. We plan to spend the summer filling your newsfeed with everything going on around the farm. 🐑 🐐

I teach elementary as my day job and run the farm on the side. The Covid-19 pandemic has had me away from my students for two full weeks and, at a minimum, we still have two more weeks to go. Naturally, I’ve started to feel down in the dumps. It's as though like I’m missing a part of myself.
Tonight after completing evening chores I sat down on some hay bales and mindlessly scrolled through my phone. Howard jumped up, pushed himself under my arm and squeezed into my torso. He stayed there nibbling hay and leaning into me for 15 full minutes.
He might drive the llamas and I completely crazy, but adding this guy to the farm was the best decision I’ve ever made. 🐐 ❤️
Sheep Shearing
The sheep have been sheared! ✂️🐑
Every spring when the temperature begins to rise we shear our small flock. This not only helps them prepare for the warmer weather and cleans them up for lambing, but also allows us to harvest their beautiful fleeces.
We currently have 4 different breeds of sheep and each fleece is unique. We will blend our Cormo, CVM and Rambouillet fleeces with our llama to create some of the most exquisite yarns. 🧶 (More to come on that! 😉) Our Lincoln Longwool fleeces, on the other hand, will be sold raw to fiber artists who treasure their lustrous locks.
The best part about shearing is that it keeps our four legged friends happy and healthy! I tried to capture a picture of their newly naked bodies, but the sheep were more interested in the hay. Go figure 🤷🏼♂️
Huge thanks to @Jacob Loehr for a great job handling our beasts. We highly recommend Jacob for all your shearing needs.
Give our farm page a “like” 👍🏽 in order to keep seeing updates on these beauties. Lambing season is just around the corner!
The farm is expanding!
Today Teacup was loaded into the llama-llimo and traveled into town to attend Landon’s 3rd birthday party! 🎉 🦙 She was a hit with both adults and children alike. We were so impressed with how well Teacup performed with approximately 20 people giving her love, feeling her soft fiber and asking questions about llamas.
Happy Birthday Landon and a huge thank you to his Mom & Dad for allowing us to come out.
In 2020 we hope to offer this and several other llama-related activities on a full time basis. Until then we’ll be doing a couple trial runs. Keep up to date with our adventures by following our farm page. 👍🏼
Fences are finally in, the field is baled, and the llamas are almost ready to go back out on pasture. Baby "Jovi" is tired of being in the dry lot and ready to get back out and play!
