Busy past day getting things moved around. Harnessed up Saffron and sent him in with a group of does. Mostly first timers.

Got the Class of 2022 2nd Round of CDT, Dewormer, Copper pill, and the boys banded to be wethers. Weaned from their mommas. Ready to go.

Finally got an easier supply of water. Been carrying buckets across street and hauling buckets by truck daily for years. This 200+ gallon tank should be good for a week of semi casual watering.

Couple more kiddings over last few days. Getting into some baby girls now.
Star gave birth in this vacant outbuilding to a boy and girl.
Then Ginger delivered a boy and a beautiful dappled girl.
Great job girls. Unassisted births, fed and off to a great start.

Something other than solid black, but still all boys today😆. Twins

Animal husbandry 101
First born boy had weak pastern and walking on ankle. So I made him up a little splint to keep it straight and get him walking on the hoof.

Came home to this triple banger of baby boys😍 Looks like it's a trend of solid black boys so far.

The mid summer kidding is under way. These kids are from my deceased dappled fullblood buck. Making this highly anticipated.

First delivery was heartbreaking. Doe was pushing 2 at once. Second one breach. When I got there the first one out was dead. Solid black doe with a few white dapples. I pulled both. The breach one was alive. Solid black buck.

Really wanted a doe from Mocha and that fullblood dappled buck.

9 more to go. Let's go dapple babies!!

The End of an Era

So I've been back and forth over the past year about continuing my worm business after starting a full time job. I scaled back and wanted to keep going. I have now come to the conclusion that I'm hanging it up.

10 years ago I got my first batch of worms. 6 years ago I spent my entire retirement to establish the start of what I wanted to be my future of a worm farming business. Since then I have grown quite well. Met some wonderful and loyal customers over those years. It's not an easy decision. Much like everything in life there comes priorities. Time can be very limited. I'm proud of what I accomplished in that short amount of time. Starting from scratch and growing is very rewarding to the soul.

I will miss the conversations and the satisfied faces I have serviced. I will not miss the inconsiderate customers that dont value another's time. All and all it was a great experience to be had. Thank you all who supported me, it means alot.

I will be selling my worm harvester, flo thru bins, and small worm bins. If anyone is interested please contact me.

I will also be changing the name of page and continuing on with my Boer Goats. Feel free to unlike or continue following.

Thank you all again✌

Slowly started harvesting worms this month. Busy fitting in castings harvesting. More focus going into worms now. They have been laying lots of cocoons.

I have 2 bags of 2.25 pounds each of worms that weren't picked up. $100 each. Ready to go.

Worms are sold at $45 per pound this year
Starter mixes with worms and cocoons are sold at $25 per gallon of material

They were a big hit.

Today I started raking down castings to be screened for sale. Worm castings will be ready to be picked up as early as March 5. I am going to keep the price per cubic foot bag priced at $25. I know in a world of ever increasing inflation that is unheard of. I am doing this as a favor to my repeat customers. I would like to also state that this will be my final year selling worm castings. It has been enjoyable yet very time consuming and laborious to produce them. There isn't any volume discount either, so please don't bother asking.
There is no telling how long they will last. There will be plenty to go around. Prepaid by PayPal or Venmo is preferred. Thank you to everyone using my worm castings over the years. Your business is greatly appreciated.

Just wanted to share some results pics of the goats clearing brush. I moved them from pasture to brushy overgrowth. I have 11 goats in roughly 3/4 acre. Still being fed hay and minimal grain daily.
In 2 weeks time they have done a number. Primarily in order of consumption Sumac, Goldenrod, Bitterweet, Honeysuckle, Green Briar.

********Pay in Advance Worm Orders**********

First I'd like to thank all my customers who placed orders and picked worms up when our appointment was scheduled. Unfortunately not everyone is so courteous.

Worm Farming isn't my only thing I do. I am very busy and dont have set hours, that's why i make pick ups by appointment only. A typical worm order takes on average an hour to harvest and bag ready to be picked up. In the past I've had a few no shows but recently it has become more common.

This has become very frustrating. In the busy season it's not such a big deal I'll pass the worms onto the next customer. In the slower months(now), a worm order not picked up can be a complete waste.

If I receive a phone call or text ordering said amount of worms an appointment for pick up is made and I expect them to be picked up. I understand things come up, people change minds, whatever the case may be. To order and not show up or call to say anything is just completely rude and disrespectful to me and a waste of my time.

So I'm forced to start pay in advance either by PayPal or Venmo. I didn't want to go this route but I believe it will make customers a little more courteous. It will lose me some business as well as some people prefer cash and dont have those accounts. A good example of how a few people ruin it for the rest.

I hope this isn't a major inconvenience for anyone. Everyone's time is valuable and I certainly would feel terrible for wasting someone else's.

Always come across my share of Red Wigglers breeding, but never a triple. Found these 3 tied up mating today. Would've liked to see if they all released a cocoon afterwards.
And then there's this guy. Just decides to lay right in the middle of the action😆

Took advantage of this mini thaw today. So nice to be able to work some compost and food around without it being a giant ice cube.

It's been 3 months since feeding the indoor mammoth flo thrus, and they definitely needed it. Beds were a bit dry. They got a generous watering and light feeding, since it still is quite cold out. Lots of juveniles near the top, surprised me.

This is what the worm castings are derived of. In about a year after the worms break this down and it makes the 20" journey to the bottom of flo thru, it will become the final product in a bag.

It sounds horrible hearing about the commercial made stuff in stores that's basically dried out worm kissed peat moss.

Well despite the dumping of snow this week the show must go on. It's the earliest I've been able to get worm castings available for sale in a year, and wasn't going to let the snow ruin it. So whether you're a greenhouse grower or an indoor vegetable start grower they are available.

Barn was smelling great after running 10 heaping wheelbarrows through the trommel. Take a whiff of that worm butt😆. Of all the manures I've smelled, worm manure has got to be the most pleasant by far.

Worm castings will be sold in 1 cubic foot bags this year, weighing right around 30 lbs!!
$25 per bag picked up at farm
