Finally reporting on the Pet Food Cupboard distribution last Saturday, the 14th! It was really busy with 55 families coming through! It was a super great month for donation, and we THANK you all for your generosity & caring thoughts! First thanks is to the Alden Advertiser for printing our article, and on the front page too! Next we thank Darlene (Pinky & Rusty), Tractor Supply, Pet Connection, Jerry & Kim, Kathi & Danny, Christian & Gwendolyn, The Crimson Featherettes, WNY food 4 Paws 🐾, Marilyn, Teri, Tabby Town, Heather, Sharon, Kathy, Agape Day Hab (homemade biscuits wrapped with bows), Mutt Cuts & Clients, Alden Bus Garage, Tina W, Kristina, Ellen, and so MANY anonymously! Also Bob & the Bagpipers for unloading a donation! We couldn't do the distribution without the volunteers! Much thanks to Karen, Brenda, Linda, Cindy, Terry, Carol, Margaret, Stephanie, and Bob! Was a busy morning at the Pet Food Cupboard! We went through a lot of food, and got a lot of good wishes for Christmas! A cold morning, but we welcomed the sun! A HUGE thanks to Bob & his fellow bagpipers for unloading my car with big bags of dog food! 👍 Will do a post tomorrow or Monday! THANKS also for the cards with scratch offs, gift card, a really nice surprise!❤❤ Looking forward to scratching them off! $$$$$

In 2011, the Rev Deacon Lucinda “Pete” Dempesy-Sims of the former Episcopal Church of the Ascension founded a pet food pantry. An animal lover, Pete saw the need to help feed the pets of those struggling to feed themselves.

Out of her passion, other pantries were formed in Episcopal churches in our diocese.

Pete was called home to heaven November 9, 2017.
