Update: my wife could feel puppy movement in tiger lilly’s belly just now :)

She bred via vet consult AI multiple times starting 4/19 so it literally should be any day coming up that she gives birth. So exciting. 🐶🐾💕

One of the great things about having puppies is all the wonderful people we get to meet...

We love to hear how a puppy is doing with its new family. Here is a detailed update from one of our families... [minor edits made to protect privacy.]

We wanted to give you an update on our precious [puppy].

[He] stole our hearts two months ago when we met you, Angie, and Eleanor for pick up. Thanks again for meeting us and allowing us to pick him up a little later than usual.

Choosing the havanese breed has been an ideal choice for us. We love their hair, their personality, their size and cuteness. [His] curled tail is precious! Finding you for the breeder was priceless. We are constantly impressed with our pup. He is friendly, calm, smart, well mannered for his age and unbelievably adorable.

The first time there was a thunderstorm he didn't even wake from his nap. The first time I dropped a pot in the kitchen, [He] just ignored it. Wow! We were worried about sounds startling him, but not much seems to bother him. I can only think that you two introduced different sounds while they were little. A friend told me the story about initially thinking the puppy they got from you was deaf because he was so well adjusted to different noises.

[Another family who got a puppy from you] and I have conversed back and forth about our doggies and she is impressed with you too. You two raise wonderful pups and we can't thank you enough for enriching our lives with [him]. We love [him] SO much!

You mentioned that your havanese want to be wherever you are. You are sure right about that. [He] goes from puppy dreamland to by my side the second I leave a room. And I like it that way. He is our buddy and I incorporate him in what ever I am doing. He is content to play around the back yard as I w**d or enjoy another new found "den" under [my husband's] old teak desk as I work at my desk. [He] has a teleworking buddy three times a week. He is playful and energetic. He learned how to play fetch and return without us even teaching him. And at other times he is calm and snuggly. [He] is a wonderful pup!

Being alone isn't the best for him. We have found we can go out to dinner but leaving for half a day stresses him. For the 4 days per month we are away long stretches we day board him with Montrose Pet Hotel. They love him there. But honestly, everyone loves him. At Montrose he is looked after and played with by staff. He does not come into contact with other boarding dogs to protect his health. [We suggested at this age to leave a TV on, or music to help him adjust.]

[He is] healthy. We got him the shots you recommended and we had him microchipped this past Tuesday. Clever [pup] has figured out he fits under our front gate. But he is growing quick. This week he weighed in at 8.6 pounds! We hope he outgrows the area under the gate soon. For now we blocked that area.

Essentially [he] was housebroken at about 18 weeks. Overnight he has an open crate in the kitchen and he still uses newspaper to empty his bladder but we are almost there! He has full access to the downstairs during the day. Upstairs he still needs supervision for potty training. We are still working on steps with him too. He goes up reluctantly but is still scared about going down. I bought a clipper and trimmed some of the hair around his pads so he has more traction on our wooden staircase. I think that has helped.

We taught him to ask to go out by using the bell system. However, that was short lived when he decided it was fun to play with all day. Lol! [He] stands by the mudroom door when he needs to go out to do his business. We are still teaching him to bark to go out. He knows to bark to come back in from playing.

[He] loves going for walks around the block. He loves everyone he meets and he is friendly towards other dogs. He is a true pleasure to have as a companion and we treasure him.

By the way, your children have certainly made a positive impression on [him]. He loves children!! Our neighbor has two young boys and [he] was over the moon in happiness when he first met them!

Hi all, would you mind replying to Shelli?

Our Havanese has passed away this weekend and I am looking at breeders and have fallen in love with Champion and their puppy pics and philosophies. I was wondering if anyone who has purchased a pupply from here could share their experience with me and how their puppies/dogs are doing? We are so sad to lose our beloved Oreo, but also becoming excited about having another puppy to love! Any feedback would help!
