Only took me a billion years to get here but hey, better late than never 🤣

I think my biggest issues were procrastination with all the ideas I had. I didn’t know where to start, how to bring them to life and have a scalable business.

✨I believe it’s become more and more difficult to feel self assured and confident due to social media.

😕People lie, curate, withhold reality or only post the best but all that does is distorts our perception on what real life and real results look like.

🫢My clients who struggle the most? The ones who follow about of other trainers and coaches because it forces them to constantly compare.

😅I know you’ve done it. So have I. We see someone who is widely successful and wonder why we’re not there too.

The longer I do this the more I realize how we have noooo idea what’s really going on.

❌Some people playing are still living in their parents basement so they can afford all the fancy xyz things you see. Some people take a one minute clip but the rest of their day looks completely different with their dog. Some people straight up lie about the success they apparently have. Some people have privileges you don’t have.

✅Try something with me okay? Let’s do our best to stop comparing. When you start to compare- exit out or instagram and remind yourself- you don’t know that person’s experience. All you can do is focus on bettering your own. ❤️

Do you have your phone number on your website?

Personally, phone calls costs me time & money so I do my best to keep them to a minimum. Even when I do take a call, I make sure to set expectations with clients that I will not answer and cannot provide any specifics for their situation until meeting.

Independent contractor (IC) vs Employee? It varies states to state what constitutes an IC so always be sure to check your local jurisdictions laws and statutes.

Many businesses try to label employees as IC because they good tax liability but still retain large amounts of control over IC.

If you’re unsure how to classify a hire always talk with a legal or tax professional to ensure you’re not going to get in trouble with Uncle Sam 😉

😫Yes, I’ve made this mistake. I’m trying to force myself to do things that just don’t align with “me”.

It happens to all of us at one point or another. And I’m not saying to never do things that make you uncomfortable. But it does get to a point where doing that thing no longer serves you or your business.

⏰Then it’s time to change things up! It’s totally okay if you hate admin work, or social media or the not so fun parts of your business.

⌛️If you find that it’s draining you so much that you can focus on engage resllly matters- you’ve got to adjust and change that.

Always always always try to get an email address via phone so you can send a follow up.

Most people are talking with multiple companies and it’s hard to keep track, so make it easy for them😌

Before finishing the call, ask if you can send them a follow up email. Watch and see how much more likely they are to sign up after receiving this.

🤯Your website form and questions can be an amazing filter for your business to attract the right clients but it can also deter many clients as well.

This is one of the biggest mistakes I see new clients make on their site for their service based business.

If a question required more info, then wait to ask it until you actually meet with your client. It gives you an opportunity to understand why they may or may not have done something.

🤓I changed a few things on my site in the past 3 months and it’s changed my business pretty dramatically📈.

I wanted to find a way to funnel and incentivize clients to choose my Immersion program over my other ones.

1. I took into account WHERE things were located on my website and
2. I changed some language around the program to show that it was my most popular program

Small things like this can add up significantly. My proof is a 67% increase in average order amount compared to last year during this time.

This is an underrated tool that not everyone will use but for me, I use it. It really relieves any anxiety about now showing up in the best way when I have to reschedule for whatever reason.

😅I know some of these don’t feel amazing to hear but without some discomfort we can’t change and get better.

Many new entrepreneurs are so excited about sharing their incredible and expert info that they overwhelm the client leading the client to not follow up or do any of the tips they learned.

Here’s a good rule of thumb: 1-2 items or topics should be covered in that first meeting. Once they feel confident in those, then you can move on.

Next, your sign up process needs outline exactly what they can expect from you, like an agenda to a meeting! People like agendas because they like to know what’s going to happen. Make it clear during your initial conversations.

Lastly, ask for help! Asking for help is a positive thing and one that will help you grow exponentially.

1️⃣ when your first starting out, your time and money is better spent on your SKILLS not on the fluff part of it. When you’re doing an incredible job with clients, take what gets you more clients. Not whether you posted a perfect video on Instagram

😭I WISH I DID THI EARLIER ON.

🎧Now listen, is this a necessity? No, but if you want to efficiently grow your business and not feel overwhelmed then having clear policies and business processes are a non-negotiable.

It wasn’t until years into my business where I stopped and realized I was sending the same email over and over, I felt stressed when a new situation sprung up and I was just flying by the seat of my pants 😣

👎🏽Don’t do that :)

Be proactive and take the time now to write out your process for gaining new clients, managing current ones, onboarding and more.

It will save you SO much time and energy later on.

🤓Here’s my opinion, for the 99% of Solopreneurs should start with an LLC.

If a non-tax professional is guiding you towards a solo proprietorship or S-Corp I’d look at that advice more than twice 👀

For financial reasons and just simplicity, file for your LLC unless you’re hiring a tax professional who can guide you through a different direction.

To file for your LLC it’s simple, most states cost $150-$300 to file/register and you DO NOT need an attorney to file for you.

At BD Method- we love data aka I love to take proven methods of making more revenue. 1) Don’t wait until you have daily clients, a bunch of clients or what you perceive as “enough” to get started on your email list. You should have a system in place that captures that info even if it’s just a google form. Then, you can use things like mail chimp, Mailer lite, Brevonor other mail systems to send our beautiful emails to your clients. This also makes it easier to remind clients of upcoming days, new services and more! 2) You need to be chatting with your clients after you meet. If this email you can add in notes about your meeting and then send prompt them with new follow-up times or remind them of a service you have “don’t forget, we have a vip boarding package for your dog” 3) You need a system- I know that’s confusing for some so just ask me! When people sign up there should be clear instructions of what they can expect and why they need to see you more than once (because they usually always do).
