When we got an email about two seniors dumped at a Baltimore shelter, we knew we needed them. Dr. Dinosaur was immediately at home at the cafe and so happy to meet new friends everyday. To know him was truly to love him. We celebrated his sweet 16 last month with many treats and cuddles.
When we got him, he had been going with untreated hyperthyroidism, among other things, for who knows how long. After many vet visits, we hoped we could stabilize him. We even took him to a cat dental specialist but he was not a good candidate for anesthesia. Yesterday, we discovered he had advanced mouth cancer for which there was no treatment. He left this world in my arms with a belly full of churu, purring and so loved. He was truly a special cat.
If you visited the last two months and met him, thank you for giving him so much love. He loved every one of you.
It’s always hard to lose a pet but knowing he was so happy his last few months brings comfort. I will never stop asking for the seniors and “hot messes.”
They love hard ❤️
His former housemate Professor is being fostered at my home for now but he is still available for adoption. He’s a sweet, shy guy and absolutely adorable. If you have a calm home and some other senior cats for him to befriend, please reach out!
See you on the other side Dino ❤️
