Two different frozen raw foods have been implicated in the transmission of H5N1 Avian Influenza to house cats. No humans have been affected yet, but it is possible. Freezing or freeze drying does not inactivate viruses or bacteria, so at this time, we recommend not feeding your cat any type of frozen or freeze-dried raw food. Cooking the raw food to a temp of 165F has been shown to inactivate the virus, so that is an option.
