At Core Canine, we specialize in positive reinforcement training as provided by our Certified Dog Trainers April and Olivia, whose commitment is to bring you and your dog together in a positive way. Core Canine’s goal is to teach owners and their dogs how to live harmoniously together. We work with all dogs, regardless of breed or size, and helps families - both small and large. If you have kids,

we’d love to have them be a part of the training process. Bringing dogs closer to their families is what makes us happy. We offer private in-home classes in the following Northern Virginia locations: Alexandria, Annandale, Arlington, Burke, Falls Church, Ft. Group obedience training classes are being held at our facility located at 3301 Mt.

Ollie is an 11-month-old goldendoodle who is super smart and extremely friendly. He has a hard time greeting people without getting overstimulated. He will jump and mouth on hands and arms. We met at Home Depot today to work on greeting people nicely and calmly. He did such a great job! In this pic he’s laying nicely next to an employee at HD named Jackie. He did so well approaching her calmly and gave kisses to her hands rather than mouthing her. Couldn’t have been more proud of him. Next up, he’ll be taking the CGC test. You got this Ollie!!

I have the best clients! Never once have I regretted changing careers and becoming a dog trainer. It’s been the most satisfying and rewarding work I’ve done. Thank you to all of my clients and their pups for being amazing. ❤️

passed the CGC test with flying colors! When asked how he did it he said, “Well, April, my name is Snax for a reason. Let’s just say I was promised some extra delicious snacks at the end. Proper motivation is key.” Way to go Snax!! Keep up the great work.

I worked with adorable Agnes today. She’s a 3y/o who pulls a lot on walks and is pretty leash reactive toward other dogs. As you can see, she’s making great progress! It certainly helped that this dog laying down was calm and disinterested in Agnes, but it’s still a win! We used counter conditioning and engagement techniques for the reactivity and she responded so well. Keep up the great work, Agnes!!

I’m looking for an experienced dog trainer to join my team and expand my small business. Trainer must use positive reinforcement methods. Certification through a reputable organization preferred though not required.

Must be willing to travel to clients’ homes, and have reliable transportation. Punctuality and reliability are needed as well.

Schedule is flexible though the ideal candidate would be available evenings and weekends.

Pay is a percentage of the services performed.
