BARCS is in a desperate situation–we have more dogs in the shelter than we have kennel space to house them, and more will continue to enter our doors. Effective April 18, through Sunday, April 21, we are waiving adoption fees for ALL animals in the shelter in order to make room for new animals that need to seek refuge at our facility.

BARCS is the open-admission shelter for Baltimore City, we cannot turn new animals away, even if our cages are full. The number of dogs coming into our shelter has significantly increased. Dog intakes at BARCS are up 24% from last year and 71% in the last two years. We have hundreds of healthy, happy adoptable dogs that need homes, and they are at risk for euthanasia otherwise. YOU can help us not have to make any heartbreaking decisions by helping us spread the word about this mounting crisis.
