Surgery Update: Garfield’s diaphragmatic hernia repair surgery has been scheduled for October 13th! We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for everyone who has donated so generously.
Prior to the surgery, Garfield will receive thorough preoperative care to ensure he is in the best possible condition. With any surgical procedure there is a degree of risk and especially with this surgery, as it is very complex. However, it is our best opportunity to give Garfield a chance at a full recovery and a happy, pain-free life.
Garfield is in good spirits and is soaking up the extra TLC that he is receiving. We will update you on his progress when we have new information to share. We ask you to keep Garfield in your thoughts as his surgery date approaches. Your financial support is a huge gift; but you are also a source of strength and encouragement for him, all of us at LAHS and his adoptive family during this challenging time!
Hiccup Update!
He got to go out on his first walk today, 3 weeks after his amputation surgery. We wanted to make sure he was nice and healed before letting him go for a walk (even though he thought he could go for a walk the day after surgery). This video is short but trust us he got a nice little walk this afternoon with Kevin, one of our awesome volunteers. 😄
Hiccup is doing amazing, and will hopefully be ready for adoption soon!
And....they are off!
Huge thank you to the Prometheus MC West Central MN bike club for arranging this amazing fundraiser for LAHS! We, (and all of our shelter pets), sincerely appreciate it. Have a safe and fun ride!
