Humming Desert Alpacas We are a small, full service alpaca ranch located mid way between Albuquerque and Santa Fe just off I-25 at Budaghers.

Humming Desert Alpacas is a full service alpaca farm dedicated to breeding and raising healthy, quality animals with an emphasis on providing the best preventative care for our herd. We welcome ranch tours by appointment Monday-Saturday. Join us and get to visit with these amazing animals and shop for quality alpaca products in our ranch store!

Can't believe we are doing this, but in preparation for our retirement which is going to be here before we know it, we are beginning to offer some of our most coveted champion, genetic lines for sale. Some of these alpacas have been part of our foundation breeding herd, and have never been offered for sale, including our gray lines. All females can be available bred to any of our award winning herdsires. If you have ever dreamed of starting a show quality alpaca herd, or just wish to add seed stock genetics to your existing herd, come see us and let's talk! I will be updating and adding prices on our website this week.

Back home!! We are so very proud of our little show team of five!!! They held their own in that extremely TOUGH competition, and every one of them came home with blues!!!! Just absolutely love these littles!!!! ❤️❤️❤️. Also very proud of Granite and Declan for the caliber of babies they are producing! Granite is one of those grays who never got the accolades he deserved despite being a multi Color Champion. We are so grateful Pamela and Jon gave us the opportunity to purchase him!!

Alpacas are such creatures of habit, that when you change anything in their world it's a BIG DEAL!!! At least it is with our herd! 😂 Fred put up two extra feeders in one of the girls' barns and they just stood in the entrance staring for about an hour, so confused... 😂😂😂

Happy New Year from all of us at Humming Desert Alpacas!! To say 2024 was a very difficult and trying year for us is an understatement, but we are looking forward to bigger and better things in 2025! We are mostly looking forward to getting back in the show ring after Fred's difficult recovery from his awful truck accident and recent surgery. But most of all, we are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the farm! We would like to extend a big THANK YOU to everyone for all your support and caring thoughts throughout the year!! ❤️❤️
