🐾We are happy to introduce Dr. Rory Friedow to the Holmes Animal Clinic team!🐾

Dr. Rory will working Tuesdays starting August 19th!

Dr. Rory graduated from ISU Veterinary College in 1978. He worked at a mixed animal practice in West Bend for his first 20 years, followed by 25 years as companion animal practitioner in Fort Dodge.

Dr. Rory and wife Linda are very active in AKC canine events. They are breeders, exhibitors and AKC conformation judges for Belgian Shepherd dogs. They exhibit Belgian Tervuren and Belgian Malinois in conformation, obedience, rally, agility and herding. Dr. Rory is the Health Chair for the American Belgian Malinois Club and served on the Board of Directors of the American Belgian Tervuren Club. He and Linda served as Palo Alto County 4-H dog project leaders for many years. As a member of the Fort Dodge Kennel Club, he enjoyed instructing puppy and conformation classes.

Dr. Rory and Linda live on an acreage south of Britt and care for sheep, chickens and barn cats. They presently share their home with 3 Belgian Tervuren and 3 rescue cats.

About Us

Holmes Animal Clinic Inc. was established in 1974 by Dr. Doug Holmes. The practice continued to grow through his extreme love of veterinary medicine.

In 1991, Doug’s son, Dr. Jeff Holmes, returned home after two years of practice in Pella, Iowa. The practice showed tremendous growth with Dr. Doug providing the majority of large animal and ambulatory duties, while Dr. Jeff was committed to improving the small animal practice to where it is today. In 2003, Dr. Jeff purchased the practice from his father after he was forced to retire due to medical reasons.

Since that time, Dr. Jeff has implemented state-of-the-art equipment and services. Holmes Animal Clinic offers full in-house lab work, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy and laser therapy. Dr. Jeff has been extensively trained and offers full surgical procedures involving soft tissue and orthopedics. He receives many referral cases on orthopedic cases.
