I think this was the most beautiful conference artwork that I've ever seen! They took the art theme and ran with it! Multiple representative, multiple formats and it just came out beautiful!
VMX is the best veterinary conference that I've ever attended and with the trip for anyone eligible to go.
People flew from across the world to be here. It was really fun to even stop and talk to people who knew Buffalo, Rochester, and home.
But this one really hit home:

"It's the heART of the animals of why we do what we do."

I had a question presented to me tonight on how to tell if a rescue is legit?

Ask them for their incorporation papers. Check the Attorney General website (https://ag.ny.gov/resources/organizations/charities-nonprofits-fundraisers). Research who is their board. Ask the questions!
DO NOT BELIEVE THEM BLINDLY AND HAND THEM YOUR MONEY UNTIL THEY SHOW YOU THEIR PAPERWORK.

We at the rescue have done the footwork and have an official 501(c)3 non for profit. Anyone that does not is either trying to hide stuff because they don't want to report on 990s or have a board of directors to check them. That's not okay! Non for profits need to be transparent. Point blank. End of story.

Check your rescues! Make sure they are legal! And in NYS, they are REQUIRED TO HAVE A DOMESTIC ANIMAL HEALTH PERMIT. We do, and are visited by the State Vet to check our records. You are can check that out on the NYS Ag & Markets website (https://agriculture.ny.gov/animals/domestic-animal-health-permits).

If they don't? REPORT THEM! False rescues need to be reported and turned in for falsely claiming charitable organizations and taking money illegally. They are doing nothing more than taking your money for their own horses and claiming it's a rescue. Do the homework. Do the research.

The end of the fourth day is close! I have two more courses to finish up with about stifles and euthanasia options. But the parasite discussion is super interesting!!

Finn got his new picture and I'm super excited but I can't share the news yet of something new coming around!!

But this has been a great educational and networking week for me, the rescue and our awesome vet!

I've got some cool pet photos to give away! There were so many pet photos made that got left behind at the table - they started giving the unclaimed ones away.
I will be sharing them on the next home live and you can claim one that looks the closest to your pet! BUT you have to share a picture of your pet in the comments first!

Just comment with your beloved pets and I will see if I have one close to them!

I will be stopping by the table again tomorrow to see if I can grab any more.

It has been a long day 3 already! Since we got to the conference, we've been working the expo/vendor hall for both the vet practice side and the rescue side. And we got to meet and pet a wallaby and a Patagonian cavy!
We've had a couple donations for equipment and contacts for after the expo for the Rainbow Daisies Horse Rescue. Now it's an afternoon of education sessions around the horses and their health.

For the love of the horse! I'm super pumped being here and really hoping to get some connections for our rescue

Our Story

Shamrock Found Farm & Stable will be the premier location to board your horse, learn to ride and train! We offer 24/7 care by a NY & PA licensed Veterinary Technician, daily health checks, stall cleaning, 8-10 hour pasture turn-out with pasture rotations, and use of our outdoor, indoor or round pen arenas! The horses are fed with only the very best grain and homemade hay while being kept on the matted stalls. We also welcome overnight travelers passing through as we have 2 stalls that are kept specifically for that use. Shamrock Found Farm & Stable also allows outside horse owners to rent the arenas for use and if you want to bring your trainer with you, it is possible! Shamrock Found Farm & Stable encourages it's boarders to try new things or advance in their discipline of choice. We allow all aspects of riding: Western, Huntseat, Dressage, Saddleseat, Jumpers/Hunters, Barrel Racers, Jousting and Archery. If you have any questions, give us a call!
