Getting more bike rides in now that the weather has cooled off!

Most people have accidentally taught their dog that if they just pull harder on the leash, they’ll get what they want. If this is happening day in and day out on every walk you take, your dog is just getting constant reinforcement of that behavior and is likely to continue doing it, which can lead to worse behaviors as well.
Try changing the direction you’re going and become more unpredictable and engaging to your dog.

Coco was found at the shelter by her new forever owners and as she settled into her new home, they found her to be quite reactive and barking non stop in the house and demand barking at her new dog friend in the home.
She was all over the place on walks and would put on the brakes whenever she didn’t want to continue. She’s a pretty big dog so walks weren’t as enjoyable as they could be!
Her owners were very unsure about how she would behave with my crew of dogs since she’s very pushy with their other dog at home. If guests came in, it took a while for Coco to settle down and be neutral with them.
I’m happy to say that Coco can now walk nicely & respond to leash pressure instead of putting on the brakes, can calmly hang out with other dogs, can recall out of play, willingly goes into her crate, and is an overall WAY better listener!! I’m excited for her owners to learn how to communicate their expectations better and enjoy her more in the house and on their walks!
It’s okay to let dogs be dogs when safe and appropriate!

Play is an awesome way to teach your dog rules & boundaries.
It’s also a great way to build a relationship with your dog.

What’s your dog’s favorite game to play with you?
No keeping secrets over here!! 🤣
Why do I love this “training” lifestyle with my dogs?
Because it allows me to do MORE with them, like travel & take them on adventures instead of having to leave them at home!
Teaching your dog boundaries & a clear way to communicate with them allows MORE freedom for them, not less 🙂
You don’t have to live with a dog that pulls you and controls you on your walks…
The walk should be a partner activity.
You fulfill their needs while they respect your boundaries and expectations on leash!
It’s totally fair and possible to have both a happy and fulfilled dog who doesn’t pull & cause chaos on your walks.
And, it doesn’t need to take weeks and months to teach your dog to stop pulling you on your walks!
