2. Distract your pets with toys and treats to divert their attention. Offer their favorite toys or prepare frozen treats to keep them engaged.

🔥 EXCESSIVE HEAT: Allen USA can be scorching! Temperatures soar, and pavements can turn into blistering surfaces. Dogs are highly susceptible to heatstroke and paw pad burns. Protect them from potential harm by providing a cool and comfortable environment indoors.

👨‍👩‍👦 LARGE CROWDS: Allen USA attracts thousands of people. Crowded spaces can be stressful for dogs, causing anxiety and fear. Starting tonight, our region is bracing for an extreme cold weather event that will bring below-freezing temperatures for nearly four days. We strongly encourage everyone to take necessary precautions to ensure your safety and well-being and those of your sweet fur babies!

What you should know:
🐾 Continuous below-freezing temperatures are expected from Saturday night through Wednesday.
🐾 Dangerous wind chills will be present throughout the event.
🐾 There is a chance of frozen precipitation occurring Sunday evening into Monday afternoon.

What you should do:
🐾 Prepare your 4 P's: People, Pets, Plants, and Pipes.
🐾 Minimize outdoor activities and dress warmly with multiple layers when outside.
🐾 In the event of frozen precipitation, avoid unnecessary driving. Exercise extreme caution if driving is absolutely essential and check road conditions before heading out.
🐾 Do not leave pets outdoors or expose them to unnecessary weather hazards. Make sure they have plenty of water.
