Hey there! I’m Nacho! 🧀 (Yep, that’s my name, and I’m as cheesy as I sound!) I’m a 4-year-old mix of Lab and Pit Bull, and let me tell you, I’m one handsome dude! 😎 I’ve been hanging out at the Allen Animal Shelter for almost a year now, but I’m ready to trade it for a cozy home with YOU!
The lovely ladies over at Allen Family Vet let me have the best playdates ever in their backyard—fetch, poses for pictures (I’m a natural model, btw) and chillin’ in the manager’s office with toys and stuffies. Life’s good, but it’d be even better with a best friend to share it with! 🎾🧸

I’m a fun-loving, tail-waggin’ kinda guy who’s always up for making new friends, cracking a smile, and spreading some joy. If you think you might be my perfect human, give Allen Family Vet or the Allen Animal Shelter a shout. I’d love to meet you and start our adventure together! 🐾💖

Ear infections in dogs and cats can be painful and irritating, and they usually don't go away on their own. A few ways you can help prevent ear infections is by keeping your pet's hair trimmed around their ears and also cleaning your pet's ears regularly but over doing it could potentially cause issues.

🌟 This week’s MythBuster focuses on dental health! 🦷✨ The best way to ensure a healthy mouth is to start dental care early, establishing good habits for both you and your pet. Untreated dental issues can lead to serious health problems like heart, kidney, and liver disease.

Remember, genetics can influence dental health, so even young pets might face serious dental issues. Professional cleanings require anesthesia to allow a thorough examination of all teeth. We also perform full mouth radiographs to get a detailed view of the teeth and jawbone, helping us make informed decisions about treatment, including extractions or more complex procedures. Your pet’s health is worth it! 💙

It’s our first feature of Mythbuster Monday! Today, we’re debunking some common pet insurance myths. Many people believe that pet insurance is too expensive, but it’s actually become much more affordable in recent years. On average, it costs about $51 a month for dogs and $27 for cats, though prices vary based on breed, age, and coverage plans.

With rising veterinary bills and advanced treatments like chemotherapy and MRIs, insurance can help ease those costs, especially during emergencies.

Don’t assume your young, healthy pet doesn’t need insurance! Puppies and kittens can be surprisingly mischievous—swallowing a toy could lead to a hefty vet bill. Plus, the sooner you enroll, the better; pre-existing conditions won’t be covered.

Consider using Pawlicy Advisor to find the perfect pet insurance policy for you and your furry family member!🐾😻🐕‍🦺

Did you know?? The state of Texas requires that dogs and cats be vaccinated against rabies by 4 months of age.

Take preventive measures to keep your pets safe from rabies: Ensure that all your pets are up-to-date on their rabies vaccination. Prevent contact with wildlife or unvaccinated pets. Don’t attract wildlife into your yard. Keep food sources inside to prevent potentially rabid animals from coming near your pets (like raccoons, skunks, foxes, and bats).

Our beloved Josie who belongs to Dr. Moll has been to classes at What A Great Dog! and it shows.... most days 😅

We recommend because they use positive reinforcement and scientifically backed training methods to help dogs of all ages and all breeds become the best companions (or competitors!) they can be 🐕

This month, we are offering $10 off microchips for cats and dogs!

Microchips hold a unique number that identifies your pet in a national database. If your pet is lost and picked up by a good samaratin and brought to a vet/animal shelter, your contact information can be accessed by the vet or animal services officer. Then, you can be contacted and reunited with your baby!

Call us today to schedule your easy microchips appointment today!
