It's a long shot, we know...but over a year ago as a collaborative effort, we purchased a mobile bathroom unit to be turned into a mobile shower to give the homeless in the alliance Ohio area the opportunity to be able to get a shower, but construction was halted after the demo work awaiting a 2 axle trailer (hay wagon style) to place the unit onto before we could finish the renovations. We had funding lined up and bureaucracy made that fall through. We were hoping to raise some funds throughout the year to try and purchase one, but being a local grass roots organization those efforts also fizzled. If anyone knows of anyone willing to part with (donate) a 2 axle trailer, we would love to get this project finished and begin this shower outreach! It doesn't matter if the tires need replaced, we can cross that bridge when construction gets close to finished. It has been a year and we are not even treading water, we are at a complete standstill.

2) Do any bed down together and if so how many
We have several sizes currently being made and want to ensure all kitties get the most suitable housing possible 😻🐾
These shelters are good year round and will last for many years. You just need to change the straw twice a year and if it gets wet in between. They are made of styrofoam coolers (some also come in a box), inside the lid is lined with heat reflecting insulation to recycle their body heat, stuffed with straw, and wrapped in a thick contractor trash bag that’s sealed with max strength (-32) duct tape to endure the cold winter months.
We do not charge for our shelters but do ask for a donation of your choice so that we can continue to purchase the needed supplies.

Sanctuary or hospice foster needed

Everyone meet Iris - some of you might remember her from a few years ago. She was found wondering the streets, late at night by a Good Samaritan, who reached out to me for assistance ( before Q’s). Her owners were found rather quickly and at that time I was told she was born with no ear flaps and she was old and deaf. Friday night I picked up Iris for the second time after seeing a post that she was left behind, locked in a house in terrible shape after her owners moved out 2 weeks prior. 🤬😭 She is the true definition of a lap cat and immediately seeks your attention when you walk in the room. She deserves to be loved and cuddled in her old age 🥹😻🐾 She will be seeing the vet for a full work up this week which is added expenses we weren’t expecting over the holidays but she definitely deserves the absolute best for whatever time she has left.
If you’d be interested in being her forever foster we will provide everything she needs and pay all medical for the rest of her life.

Update on injured kitty from yesterday

Everyone meet Nandor 😻🐾
Thanks to the awesome staff at AlterClinic Animal Care he is all fixed up and resting comfortably in our medical room. Thankfully it was caught in time. A good scrap & flush along with antibiotics, pain meds, and crate rest and this boy will be good as new in no time, minus the knockers of course 😅😂 Doc believes it to be bite wounds 😩🥺 that become seriously infected.
This friendly boy is deaf 😭 so we will not be returning him to life on the streets. Once he’s done with his meds and healing good, he will be going to live with the family who reached out for help 🙏😻🐾
I will post a few yucky photos in the comments so hopefully FB won’t take down the post.

It shouldn’t.
But I can see how it would if you don’t have context.
This is one of my barn cats.
Making his way back to the pole barn after enjoying his breakfast and warm drinking water yesterday morning.
They have multiple straw forts in the barn.
This rescue was founded with the primary goal of helping feral cats through TNR.
Feral cats live everywhere.
From farms to trailer parks to inner city to Disneyland.

The absolutely INGENIOUS people who invented TNR decades ago have made a worldwide impact.
Organizations have popped up everywhere with the common goal of helping the ‘least of these’ in the cat world.
TNR advocates ❗️don’t want more cats❗️
We want compassion and quality of life for these animals who are a product of human irresponsibility.

Many of my own barn cats have lived into their teens.
I hear from clients from many years ago who are down to their last cats.
Just today I got an update from a man I helped in SE GR over 10 years ago.
He is down to 2 from a colony of 7 we TNR’d.
The remaining cats are well into their teens.

➡️ Well managed ⬅️ TNR colonies are everywhere and a testament to the process itself.
Feral cats do NOT all live ‘short, miserable lives.’
Please support your local TNR organizations.
They are doing the hardest work in the cat rescue world, with the smallest amount of support.
