Neonates 🥹😩
We got this little fella in last night after he was found with both eyes sealed shut from infection walking in circles around a fenced in back yard that has dogs 😬 Sickly, getting into a privacy fence with a large dog and no mom in sight we agreed to take him into our program. Tonight the family found his sister who also has eye issues in their backyard 😫 (I will make a post introducing them both but thought this video was worth posting 😻🐾).
Normally we would leave these kittens with their mother until they were 6 weeks old and treat on site. They are overall pretty healthy and of good weight. A little Terimycin twice a day and they would have been just fine. It really is their best chance of survival when they are this young. Besides Mom teaches them how to cat.🤷♀️ However in a town that I've been told doesn't like cats 🤬 and no mom to be found I felt it necessary to take them in.
The finder has also agreed to allow me to try and trap the Mom so we can atleast stop the cycle, once we verify there are no more siblings. 🙏🙏

These 2 are out in the woods, in what could potentially be a vary dangerous area for them since they are super friendly and run up to you. The black male is long-haired and an absolute sweetheart. The female is just as sweet, but doesn't seem to be doing to well after being dumped or lost for so long. 😪 She is super skinny and needs placement immediately. They are best friends so they go together 🙏🙏. They will be TNR'd if rescue can't be found. Also willing to spay/neuter Tuesday without ear-tip for rescue.

The female is extremely thin 😭 I don't want to TNR them. Clearly, they used to be someone's companion cat! Junior volunteers were out learning more about rescue. Ryleigh did her first release video 🥰 This is the unedited version and I couldn't be more proud of her. Odin got to be more involved in the actual release so he can know the proper procedures (notice him tapping on the back of the trap after seeing me do it 😻)
This is a colony that we were contacted about after a family was preparing to move into their new house. The new caregiver is doing the trapping, we are assisting with traps & transportation and have committed to their vet care. ( I will post some pictures in the comments since FB won't let me do both)

Our junior volunteers have been busy behind the scenes. 😻🐾🍼
Cameron is learning all about what is involved in feeding neonates. We discussed the different types of milk replacer and why we use KMR powder, what nipple should be used on a baby that's only days old, the proper way to feed them so they don't aspirate, how to tell when their belly is full, and let's not forget stimulating them afterwards so they go potty. He was very attentive and gentle. When they were finished he placed him on his heated disc next to his TY bunny and the little fella slept so good. I'm pretty sure I heard him snoring 😴 🥹🐾
We are critically low on KMR. We have had several neonates come through this past week and another 2 day old baby will be here in a few hours. We also currently have 5 bottle babies who are little piglets. 😅 We could really use a few cans off our Amazon wishlist.

We got another super friendly mama with 4 kittens. 3 Grey boys & a dilute calico girl. Mama even let me take her babies 🥹🥹. They were found when someone was uncovering their patio furniture and were worried about their dog hurting them. They will be staying with us for a few days until their rescue is ready for them. We are also anticipating 4 more litters coming in over the next couple days as we TNR the Mom's. We desperately need temp fosters to socialize the kittens. It's a 2-3 week commitment and we supply everything. All you have to do is teach kittens how to play, feed them, and keep them safe until they are ready for adoption. We then transfer them to a partner rescue for vetting and adoption. You'd be saving lives 😻🐾🙏. Please message us if you are interested in fostering a litter of kittens this summer 🥰🐈

This young Western Grebe is injured 😢 (puncture wounds on neck & chest) and was unable to flee predators. This fella is heading to Metropolitan Animal Hospital in Akron to be evaluated thanks to Stark Parks! Thank you Kayla Kennedy & family for keeping him safe until help arrived. And of course to Patty Hahn for doing another emergency transport for us! It takes a village and ours is absolutely amazing 👏 ❤️🙏
