Notification regarding our Alma Husky Rescue GROUP (AHRO) :

Hey this is an Arkansas based group, we accept sharing huskies looking for homes in Arkansas,Oklahoma and Missouri. We can share posts from these states but the actual rescue located in Alma, Arkansas can only currently take in so many on the property, this is donation dependent.

You may message our page or me directly to see it we have room, our kennel capacity fluctuates and priority will always be those on the 1 to 5 day kill list from shelters.

Posts regarding huskies in other states besides AR, OK, and MO I'm happy to refer you to closer to your state husky rescue groups, in that case please message me!

URGENT! On kill for tomorrow morning!

This shepherd was saved last week from euth and the foster returned him this morning to OKC shelter, because there is no stray hold he went straight on the euth list for tomorrow. Can anyone save this pup? 😪

Arya has been tagged and pulled barely in time from euthanasia at Oklahoma City Shelter. She is safe but we are in need of help with transport. Arya needs to be picked up from OKC tomorrow July 25th. We are looking for someone close to OKC to pick her up and meet us part way to Alma,AR (Fort Smith area), she will be the 5th pulled from euth and brought to the rescue, we are struggling to arrange transport this time and hoping someone will step up to help

This handsome guy did not make it. We could not pull him in time and he was euthanized at a nearby shelter. THIS is the reality of rescue. This is rescues being full, shelters being full, not enough fosters or adoptions to make room. We tried. We even had a foster lined up for him but we did not make it in time. He was killed simply for space. He was killed because shelters are full. Because he was an owner surrender. Owner surrenders are killed first.
Did you know that? When you surrender your dog to a shelter because he doesn't fit your lifestyle anymore, or because you don't have time, or because your moving... surrendering to a shelter seems like an easy guilt free solution... most of you don't realize your dog is going on a 5 day until euthanize journey with most likely zero public outreach to save them.
Here is reality. It is upsetting. When we ask or beg for fosters this is why. If you foster a dog temporarily we can pull another one from euthanasia. Yes, it can be hard, it can be trying, but it is not death.

We have been state approved but we finally received confirmation we are now officially federal 501(c)3 approved! 🙌 🙏❤️

Can anyone help this girl? We are beyond capacity at the rescue! 😪 She needs a foster or adopter she only has until Monday morning!!

"That’s nova. She was owner surrendered today at North Little Rock Animal Shelter. She’s high risk for euthanasia. We are full and owner surrenders go first. I got them to give me until Monday to secure her a rescue or adoption.

She was surrendered because she jumps their fence. They had others dogs and we were told they just didn’t like her high energy. She’s nervous now but she was just surrendered today so I don’t know her true personality but she seems friendly."

We have racked up quite another bill with so many spay & neuters the last 6 weeks and still have six more huskies pending s/n that are looking to be sponsored! Rescue is extremely costly, we could use and immensely appreciate any help 🙏❤️

Panda is available now for adoption! This sweet guy is crate trained, easy-going and would make a great family dog! Panda wants to be the only dog, he prefers all of the attention, he is chill to have down time but also ready to go for any adventure! He is a talker and a goof ball! Fully vetted and neutered.

Did you know Huskies are among the most euthanized breeds in shelters across the country?

Huskies, Shepherds, and Pitbull's are the #1 dogs euthanized today, daily.... every single day.... in shelters all across the USA. 💔😔

We can NOT keep up with the amount of dumped huskies coming in to our rescue in just this small part of Arkansas.Many of those coming in are AKC papered and still surrendered. Our intake request list is VERY long and we are beyond FULL. HUNDREDS in Arkansas/Oklahoma we can't save from euthanasia. THOUSANDS across the country.

Spay. Neuter. STOP Breeding. Please.

This is Jasper.. He loves playing in the mud 🤣. Jaspar is in a foster home right now but he is fully vetted, neutered and available for adoption. Jaspar is a very small husky, he is extremely loving and looking for a home to call his own

Altus/ Waid animal shelter is sadly having to shut down! 😭 These two pups are URGENTLY looking for a foster or adoption.

Both dogs were in the Altus kennels when they took over last July.

Rocky, on left, was an emotional support animal, abandoned by owner. Does not pull on leash. Good with females. Young adult. Neutered.

Cletis is also a young neutered male. Super sweet & loving. Very strong. Walks on a leash well. Would be great companion for a runner. Also good with girl dogs.
