Transparency Post! 🐮

I’ve gotten a lot of messages asking about photos with the highland babies, which I absolutely loveee that y’all love the babies! But at the end of the day, I always put the well being and safety of my animals before any events or photo opportunities.

Owning these animals, let alone breeding, things do not always go as planned. And as much as I’d absolutely love to share these sweet babes with the public, I decided letting them grow and be with their mommas was more important.
Our sweet Spice for example, her momma is first timer, so I wanted to make sure this was an easy summer for her. She’s my best cow, so friendly and beautiful and she deserves to enjoy her summer with her first baby. I’ve used this time to show her she can trust me being near and handling her calf, so hopefully in the future she will trust me even more!

All this being said, our third baby that is expected before Christmas IS going to be a bottle baby, and will be raised by us and we will allow photo and event opportunities as long as the calf is born healthy. Our last cow, Cookie, didn’t hold weight well with her last calf so we will be pulling her calf after a few weeks and bottle raise it and see how Cookie does.
