Downspout Leaf Filter Cleanout
As a drainage contractor, one of my biggest complaints about downspout cleanouts was that they would spray and splash up against the house and cause damage to the home’s foundation.
We worked closely with engineers to create a downspout leaf filter and vented cleanout that would contain roof runoff water. This is an industry first in the drainage world and it's made right here in Michigan. I wish I had this part my whole career!

The material is HDPE 100% virgin material that is rated to last 200 to 500 years.
The design of this pop up makes it super easy to maintain. It’s extremely easy for the homeowner to go in and clean pinecones or debris out. Then after a heavy downpour, the water pushes everything out of the line. The grass can grow over the plate, and it doesn’t grow over the discharge area of the pop up.
After 35 years in the drainage industry I knew there had to be a better way to discharge water.
Pop ups are the best choice for drainage because they hold the least amount of water. But grass grows over them quickly and clogs the point of discharge.

We're in Bloomfield Hills, MI installing a 3 systems in one trench: Curtain French Drain / Yard Drain, Buried Underground Downspouts and an outdoor sump pump system.

There was a drain in the center of this patio and it always got blocked. It would end up flooding causing the water to end up in the basement.
