🌸 In Loving Memory of Jerri Ruth Mitchell 🌸
August 16, 1956 – June 28, 2025

It is with profound sadness we notify our friends and supporters of the passing and celebrate the life of one of the most cherished members of our Rooted In Love Rescue & Sanctuary…a division of Seeded Faith Farm Rescue family—Jerri Mitchell.

Jerri was the loving mother of our Director, Melissa, and the cherished mamaw to Co-Directors Chloe, Calista, & Elijah —she was our encourager, our sounding board, and a heart quietly beating behind so much of what we’ve built.

Though illness kept her from being physically active at the sanctuary in recent years, Jerri never stopped being a powerful presence in our mission. She offered emotional support, helpful counsel, and strong support during our most challenging decisions. Her love for animals started young—she was known to bring home every stray that followed her—and that spirit has carried into everything this rescue stands for.

Even in her final days, Jerri found comfort in being visited by sanctuary animals—pigs, goats, and even a baby lamb. She held onto our mission with pride and purpose.

Jerri is survived by her devoted children:
Melissa(Darin), Monica(Joseph), Mariah(Corey), and McKenzie(James), as well as her many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.

💐 Visitation will be held at Wujek-Calcaterra Funeral Home, Shelby Township Tuesday July 1, 2025 from 3:00–8:00 PM, with a funeral service the following morning Wednesday July 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM.

At this time the rescue and sanctuary is going to be falling silent. We as a family need to be in full support, concentration and committed time with each other at this time. The animals have their full care and there’s no concerns there. All emails, calls, texts and correspondence will be followed up on as we can… Further information will be released soon.

If anyone local wishes to donate fruits n veggies and freezer pops to our pet friends thru this weeks heat wave plz send a text for the address 810-751-0201.

We do have one pig situation we are working on picking up tonight due to its emergent need that involves animal control taking it today due to ordinance violation. IF there is anyone local who has the ability to transport her from Warren to Almont we would gladly accept the help, however regardless we will save her & get her here. She will be our last accepted surrender until further notice (temporary).

🐷 Sweet Pig in Michigan Seeking Ride To New Home! 🐷

We need your help to get this pet pig from Michigan to its forever home out West—ASAP! 🛣️ The journey there is approximately 11 hours, and we’re seeking a compassionate transporter to assist.
We are paying the costs to transport, not asking for someone to do this big job for free… We are struggling finding a transporter… and this sweet pig deserves this special home shes supposed to go to.

One of our very special horses here.. the one that started this place… Hawkeye passed away three years ago unexpectedly due to a stroke. Hawkeye has grown us some pretty flower bushes after all this time over his grave… noticed this this week. ❤️

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED – INDOOR MINI PIG 🐷

We are urgently looking for a temporary indoor foster home for a sweet 2-year-old mini pig. Fully litter box trained (and uses it religiously!) and has been raised entirely as an indoor companion.

Also small for age, weighing just 25 pounds, and is very used to home life and being around people. Simply needs a loving, safe, indoor environment.

Is anyone near Marlette with the ability to go now or very shortly to transport a pig to us in Almont? XL dog crate needed or we can give to use ours.
