Seeded Faith Farm Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that strives to provided rescue, humane shelter and care for equines and other farm animals in need of housing, care, and basic needs provided to rescue them from demise and promote kindness and a clear opportunity for life. SFFR seeks to re-home to safe, approved homes when it is a medically and physically a safe decision for all the rescues, how

ever in the event an animal at risk cannot be safely re-homed they will reside in the sanctuary building & pastures. When space allots for retirement to the most at risk seniors they will also join our sanctuary building and/or pastures as a safe landing. Here at SFFR due to limited shelter options & we are not a wildlife facility and are unable to take in dogs, cats, or any form of wildlife, including birds, bunnies, deer, etc... We can help facilitate adoptions/find homes for your dog or cat and we can refer you out to several rehabbers for wildlife that might be able to help with the animal in need.

NEED HOMES! Located in St Clair County.

Urgent Pig Placement Situation Update* *Help Still Needed** FOSTERS and/or FOREVER HOMES/FARMS. TEN pigs need homes.

SFFR has been working with a local pig owner and her family trying to find & place her pigs into needed new homes/farms … SFFR is assisting the owner with approving homes and providing them with feed currently until homes found… these pigs belong to and are staying with their owner until places are found for all (except there is a deadline approaching)… they were all vet checked end of April, all are obese & working on better feeding plan, all are at minimum of 8 years old… many are nearing or are fat blind, and they are only used to their current human owner (however most are docile & friendly just leary of new folks). Tusks & hooves got their much needed attention and Farrier was out here to do the care needed on 17 of them to the tune of $900.

These pigs have been together their entire lives so hoping to place in minimum pairs of two. The females are not spayed and the males ARE castrated. The females will carefully be placed due to this. (Our farm vets available near to us do not advise spays this old in their life. (Not debating this with the pig & rescue world… we know & understand what you’re going to say… but the services we have available to us is what we have & going to MSU isn’t an option for this owner)…)

WHAT WE NEED HELP WITH?
1) We need to find homes/farms and/or foster homes for the remaining pig family. So please if you or someone you know might be interested spread the word or contact us!
2) Sponsors for their hooves & tusk care that already did the services … average is $50 per pig.
3)Mini pig feed purchase help... (it is $12 a bag and the purchase option is below) this is a huge ongoing need!

⚡️10 TEN more pigs still seeking homes…. Please consider in pairs…. So hopefully a miracle happens for them and four homes are found soon! (All previously identified homes they moved to on Saturday)

IF you would like to help by donating mini pig food or donating towards that farrier care expense please reach out to us. You can buy feed direct from our supplier via the phone. Or we do have PayPal, cash app, and snail mail.

Oh! Again we tremendously appreciate those followers who actually know us and what’s really in the happenings versus the flap jaws & keyboard warriors who absolutely know nothing but what naysayers and those delusional folks bumble about.

WE want to HELP this owner & her family and most of all these pigs. THIS IS what we are doing. HELPING. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE TRYING TO HELP US HELP THEM!

🦆🐿️ The Topic of Wildlife… 🦌🦨

Wildlife rescues require very specifically trained individuals… and the average person doesn’t always know this. So we get many calls asking for help and it’s heartbreaking hearing the finders desperation to save the animal or bird but we are yet another dead end at them finding a help source. We can pass along names and numbers but that’s it… Many upset angry or just begging folks who don’t understand why a rescue can’t help. It sucks. It does. But it is the law for many cases. And in most situations the safety & well being of the wildlife is being protected.

Attached to this post is the state DNR list of licensed options for wildlife needs to call for help. Most for birds or waterfowl are full or closed to intake so don’t be suprised. It will be a frustrating time going down the list.

We are human here too and we have the same struggles as everyone else when it comes to finding the help for wildlife. In the ideal circumstance we would one day consider obtaining this training but for now it’s the farm critters only…

(Not our post… sharing it from another source)

If you choose to rescue animals, I am going to give you some sound advice - Grow thick skin and don't care what people think of you. I have known people to lose the battle with their minds and we just lost a kind, caring individual in my rescue network. Compassion fatigue is real, but nothing is worth your life. No pet. No rescue. No person's opinion. Nothing.

In rescue, that person that tells you what an angel you are and how wonderful you are every time you pick up a stray pet thrown at their door will also be the first person who tells people how your organization is worthless when you don't have space to pick up the 30th pet thrown off on their property. It's ok.

In rescue, the adopter that leaves you the five star review about how wonderful everyone has been will change that review quick when they return the pet even though you have spent hours trying to keep it in their home. One star reviews are ok.

In rescue, your friend will be your friend until you deny their application for a pet because they are a great friend but a terrible pet owner. That's ok too.

In rescue, you will answer 143 calls in a day (yesterday to be exact). But if you miss 6 calls in a row while you are in the shower, you will be the one who "never answers their phone". It's ok.

In rescue, other rescuers and random trolls will judge everything you do but never have time to pitch in a hand to help when they see something needing more attention. They will, however, have lots of time to talk about how they’d do it better while they harass and judge you. It will be ok.

In rescue, you will have to involve animal control and the police department sometimes. The people who you take pets from will hate you - and I mean REALLY hate you. Trust me, it's ok.

In rescue, pets will be put down and pets will die at the hands of abusers. We can't save them all - and that's ok. We save the ones that we can and pray for peace for the ones we can't.

I have been in the animal rescue world since 2009. I have dealt with every problem and every situation imaginable. I used to take some things to heart, then I realized - I am doing this for the animals, not for any person in this world. I have found my joy and no person will take that. If you are in rescue, don't let anyone or anything take your joy. Find peace that you will never please everyone. Find peace that you will never save them all. Never allow something you love to turn into something that ends your life.

WE HAVE THE CUTEST ADDITION TO YOUR FARM or FAMILY WAITING TO BE ADOPTED BY YOU! MEET Holly...

Holly is one of the 5 siblings of a group of piglets that were rescued from a bad situation. She is a 8-month-old female Potbelly / Juliana cross piglet who is very friendly. Holly will let you pet and rub her belly, but is obviously still very shy and will need to gain trust to become your best friend. Holly enjoys veggies and fruits.

Holly will go to her new home on a spay contract. (We can assist with vet referrals for your new piggy friend!)

You can find the general application to adopt Holly here... please print and email or text it back to us. 810-751-0201 or [email protected]

** Holly was not placed here as sanctuary... she is a very healthy and very adoptable young pig and we will seek options for a forever family for Holly...

ARE YOU SEEKING A PONY THAT IS READY TO FIND HIS FOREVER HOME?

Bean is a 3-year-old Bay Hackney Pony gelding that has the willingness to learn and could potentially become someone’s dream pony!

Bean (also known as Expresso Bean) is a 3-year-old Bay Hackney pony gelding who is a spunky boy with lots of love to give.

Bean has the willingness to learn and can be ready to start in any direction. Bean has good ground manners, leads, ties, trailers and lunges. He’s not much of a fan of getting his hooves done and will need some minor corrections when a farrier is working on them. He will tolerate baths, but doesn’t like them. Bean likes to be higher in the herd order, but will easily settle for the lower end. He has been ridden and has pulled small objects without a problem, but he is NOT broke to ride or drive and will need more experience and work to become someone’s dream pony. He has a LOT of potential as he has a smart brain on him and learns quickly. Bean gets along with pretty much any equine, big or small, gelding or mare.

05/14/2024

We have not one but two horse introductions to SFFR. We have been on a horse intake hold here... but both these horses had no place to leave to go to that night at the auction... no one bid and no one wanted them. One of them has been through the same place auction several times already in past.
The individual intro for each horse is below... pictures follow... and we will be actively trying to raise funds to work with these two... both have needs & we are tapped out.

IF YOU HAVE AN INTEREST IN ADOPTING EITHER OF THESE... PLEASE GO TO THIS LINK AND PRINT AND EMAIL YOUR APPLICATION TO USE... https://seededfaithfarmrescue.org/applications-forms/

Meet LUCKY. Lucky is an early 20's gelding that was brought home from the auction in mid April... it was not planned to bring home a horse (we buy some hay there...) but when no bids came in on him and it was obvious he was going somewhere at the end regardless we stepped in & took him. This is what we had agreed we do in cases of need...and this sweet guy needed to go home that night somewhere ... LUCKY's prior owner had a hand written note with him that described a horse that was a former lesson horse and once loved... he looked nothing like the pictures that were sent in by that owner of him to post on the auction preview site... This horse was way too thin... and no one wanted to buy him. His note depicted him as mean with food... ummmm... maybe cause he needed to actual be fed properly! The pictures show the difference... that's enough said... WHAT WE NEED FOR LUCKY? In addition to a special mixed feed to eat...he NEEDS his teeth done, we need to update his coggins & shots (still up to date for another few weeks...how convenient for the former owner 🙄) Lucky has made amazing progress so far and soon he should hit his weight goal and be ready to be adopted!

Meet PICASSO. Picasso is a young STUD horse ... yep STUD... he is 6 years old... which leaves him needing his gelding procedure at MSU versus the affordable vet here on site ... why the previous owners never bothered to try gelding this absolutely beautiful horse to try & save him from numerous auction runs is beyond irresponsible (which over these years we've seen incredible irresponsible behaviors so why am I am surprised here...) but anyways... Picasso has amazing potential and we are working hard to keep this stud safe in his safe pasture pen while he awaits his gelding procedure in a few weeks. He is lonely & solo... he is too much for the other horses in activity right now to handle so for everyones safety he will have to be lonely for now... he can hear the neighs and the whinnies from the others ...he even had a draft horse buddy in with him for a quick minute... but he chased poor Moonshine to leap right over the fence panels to get away 😳 oops. WHAT DOES PICASSO NEED? Picasso needs help saving up for the gelding.... Picasso needs his coggins & shots updated too soon(surprise surprise 🙄)...Picasso could also really use 2-3 new corral panels that could destroyed. Picasso will also be available for adoption about mid July... we will keep him on site for a month following his procedure... Picasso will be available as a project to an experienced home... untouched by us as we do not ride or train. (just the very basics ground work started here...)

Well everyone... You have now been introduced to the new boys on the farm here! 😅. They will know they are cared for & loved here... If you have anything we could use for these boys or are willing to donate towards their needs our options are listed below... we are non profit 501(c)(3) tax deductible for your donations... Thank you as always! ❤️

‼️Homes and Funds Help Needed ‼️

*These are NOT pigs from SFFR’s sanctuaries or rescues… BUT we are trying to help their owner with safe home placements & care right now.*

We are helping an owner & her family with finding safe homes/farms for 🐽 23 potbelly pigs. If we can keep them in feed and supplies then we have about 45 days. The owners health has declined & struggling to keep up.

Seeded Faith Farm Rescue is handling the feed for the pigs and called in for a vet check with our farm vet. These pigs are all nearing 7 years old and older. SFFR does not own these pigs, nor does anyone affiliated to SFFR but we do have permission and came to them @ the request for the assistance.

Feed help… We have our super wonderful grain company local that is discounted at bulk. If you would like to purchase feed via the phone directly to them on our behalf you can do that. We will pick up. They said be sure to say you are calling to purchase mini pig feed and it is being bought for Seeded Faith Farm Rescue. The phone number to call is 586-784-5911. The pigs are using about a bag and a half per day.

Here at SFFR we are also planning to put fencing and more shelters up to accept surrender & move 4-5 of this group over here. At this time we have no fence materials yet to do so.

If there is anyone who is willing to help us…here is several methods we can take donations of support. We are non-profit 501(c)(3) tax deductible.

We get asked often if our pigs need anything … so here’s a special treat they’d love.

We have some pretty special piggies here that would LOVE ❤️ to have one of these back scratchers! We could use about ten of these here! All the pigs absolutely crave this kind of back scratching and we have always had one… but it’s about to its end.

Better to euthanize a month too soon than a minute too late. ❤️‍🩹

The word euthanasia is derived from the the Greek word euthanatos, eu = good and thanatos = death, so it literally means "Good Death." Euthanasia is our last gesture of mercy and kindness toward animals that are in the midst of or at risk of suffering.

Yesterday we transported two 28yo senior mares to their new home but unfortunately only one was able to see it. Both were examined by a veterinarian just days prior, got their coggins up to date and were cleared for travel. Unfortunately one of the mare's time came during travel and when we opened the trailer to unload she was no longer with us. We were upset, the new family was upset and the previous owner was upset. It was just an upsetting situation all around. Today we transported her to Mahan Farm and we paid for her burial.

We get calls often about elderly animals needing new homes. We understand life circumstances are sometimes simply beyond our control. While I can try and even probably find a home for that animal, moving causes stress, change causes stress, stress on the elderly is risky. They may adjust and thrive but they may not. More often than not, in these situations, I try to compassionately counsel owner to euthanize their elderly pet. Give them one last selfless gift of mercy and kindness in the safety of the arms or location they have felt safe and loved and alleviate any future stress or suffering.

As we are walking our own daughter, on home hospice, toward death we have to remind ourselves, "we value quality over quantity." Yesterday reminded me what a veterinarian I love told me, "Better to euthanize a month too soon than a minute to late." ❤️‍🩹
