Wow! You folks are AWESOME! Our Fill the Crate Operation for the dogs of Alpena Animal Control is going great and our crate is almost full! We might need to upgrade...we will be accepting new toys thru December 15 to add to the crate.

Makeover Sunday! This is little Joe. We had an awesome time snuggling this fella. He is a 5 year old bichon poodle mix. He has had all his vetting done and had to have ALL of his teeth removed, but that doesn't stop him from being a super sweet boy!

Joe was used for breeding his whole life and lived outside, we assume, until he was no longer useful to his owner--so Willow Haven Animal Sanctuary stepped up!

Joe loves EVERY person and animal. He does great while he is in his crate, and he didn't make a peep the whole time he was hanging out with us today. If you're interested in giving Joe his forever couch, please message Kaitlyn Tree .

We had the pleasure of hanging out with Dudley today! He is a current guest at Alcona Humane Society. He is a SUPER friendly neutered male doodle, estimated at about 4 years old. He hung out with our daycare group and had a blast playing ball in the big yard! We really enjoyed his company today 😊 If you're interested in Mr. Dudley, you can contact the Alcona Humane Society.

Once again, Alpena Animal Control will be letting the dogs pick their own toys for Christmas. We will have an empty crate set up in our shop thru December, and our goal is to fill it all the way to the top with doggie toys for them. If you bring in a dog toy to help us fill the crate, you'll get to put your name in for a chance to win 1 of 3 Chewy gift cards!

It is truly a happy, heartwarming moment for everyone to watch the dogs pick out something of their very own. For a lot of the dogs there, it is probably the most exciting moment of their lives up until that point.

P.S. We know it's early, but want everyone to get a chance to participate next time they bring their dog to hang out with us =)
