Lemmy's Recovery
An AVC success story!
Meet Lemmy! Lemmy was presented to us on emergency in early June as she had lost her ability to walk, Lemmy was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease by Dr. Jack and it was unknown if Lemmy would ever be able to walk again.
Lemmy stayed with us for several days, sticking to a strict regimen of physical therapy and laser treatment sessions to promote the spaces between the discs in her back to heal. By the sixth day of treatment, Lemmy was able to stand up on her own and slowly take her first steps.
We were able to send Lemmy home slowly walking, with an at home physical therapy regimen to follow.
Today Lemmy came in for her recheck appointment with Dr. Jack to show us how much she has improved!

FUN FACT FRIDAY ✨
Featuring our favorite clinic cat, Pipsqueak!
Did you know…Cats spend 70% of their lives asleep! 💤
Cats sleep on average 15 hours a day, with some sleepy kitties getting in up to 20 hours of shut-eye each day.
Curled up, stretched out or standing up, cats have no problem dozing off whenever they feel like it. We humans have taken notice and used it as an inspiration for our quick naps during the day. The term ‘catnap’ was coined to refer to a short sleep similar to the ones cat have. 🐈⬛♥️🐾
Check out this video one of our wonderful clients took of Dr. Struble performing an acupuncture treatment on her horse, Sky!
Acupuncture has been used to treat various medical conditions in humans and animals for more than 3,000 years. Horses were among the first animals treated with acupuncture due to their importance in warfare and farming.
Today, equine acupuncture is commonly incorporated in the treatment of a number of conditions, especially musculoskeletal disorders (i.e. muscle soreness, back pain, neck pain, osteoarthritis, degenerative joint disease, obscure lameness, laminitis), gastrointestinal disorders, neurological disorders, and other chronic conditions.
Acupuncture is a sought after treatment due to its demonstrated safety and minimal unwanted side effects. It is well tolerated by most horses and provides a drug-free approach to address musculoskeletal pain that can enhance equine performance.

Did you know…goats were among the first animals to be brought to America? 🐐
The earliest European settlers of America brought goats over on the Mayflower. By 1630, a Jamestown census listed goats as one of that colony’s most valuable possessions!
Goat popularity surged following the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis. The fair was host to the first dairy goat show in America as well as an exhibit featuring 300 Angora goats, the most ever shown at one time.
Dr. Jack’s friend Olive the bluetick would like to wish your dog a happy National Dog Day! 🐾♥️ 🐶
