Huron Humane Society, Inc.
The Huron Humane Society is Alpena County’s no-kill animal shelter serving the community since 1982. HHS finds loving homes for unwanted, homeless, abandoned, and abused dogs and cats and helps to educate the community about responsible pet ownership.
All dogs and cats adopted from the Huron Humane Society are up-to-date on vaccines, have received appropriate preventative treatments, and are either altered or come with a certificate for a free spay/neuter operation. In addition, adopters receive a certificate for a free veterinary visit for the adopted animal and a bag of Science Diet food.
Huron Humane Society is proudly affiliated with the Bissell Pet Foundation, with the common mission to help control the pet population through adoption, advocacy, and spay/neuter initiatives.
Open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Huron Humane Society is located at 3510 Woodward Avenue, about 1.5 miles past Northern Lights Arena in Alpena.
