Meet Diamond & Her Gemstone Kittens! 💎🐾

Diamond is a beautiful mama cat who has been through a lot. This brave stray found shelter on a kind person’s porch, where she gave birth to her five precious babies—Amethyst, Sapphire, Emerald, Jasper, and Opal—on a cold day. Despite her rough start, Diamond has been a devoted and loving mother, making sure her kittens are safe, warm, and well cared for.

Her little gems are as stunning as their names suggest! These black-and-white beauties are growing into playful, curious, and affectionate kittens who will soon be ready to find their forever homes. With their mama’s sweet nature and strong spirit, they’re sure to make wonderful companions. They won’t be ready to go home for about a month, but they are eligible for pre-adoption.

We’ve got a big event happening this morning—Aquamarine has just gone into labor! She started giving birth shortly after our staff arrived, and we’re all cheering her on as she welcomes her little ones into the world🥰

How many kittens do you think she’ll have? Our guess is three or four, but we’ll have to wait and see! Stay tuned for updates and send some good vibes to this brave mama.

Meet McGriddle 🥞

This young adult feline wandered in as a stray, so her past is a bit of a mystery. Was she a secret agent? A catnip smuggler? A former pancake chef? We may never know, but what we do know is that she’s as sweet as syrup and ready to butter you up with love!

McGriddle gets along well with other cats and would probably be just fine with a calm dog. She’s also great with kids, making her the purrfect addition to any family looking to add to their breakfast club.

Meet Amazonite! 🖤🐾

This 8-month-old Australian Shepherd/Heeler mix has a heart as big as his ears! This little guy (28lbs) loves kids, dogs, cats, and pretty much every farm animal you can think of (except chickens — he’s convinced they’re a delicious snack - like the dollop of chicken Churu on his nose). Amazonite’s ideal home will need to understand herding/cattle breeds and their tendencies. He loves belly rubs, playtime, and making friends, whether they have two legs or four. He may come off shy at first, but becomes your best friend in a matter of minutes! Yes the perfect companion for any farm or family — just, you know, no poultry parties for him!

We are so grateful for the incredible support from some amazing young people in our community!🐾

In the first photo, we have Lexi and Ben from Thunder Bay Junior High’s National Junior Honor Society proudly holding braided dog toys made by their group — our pups are going to love them!

The second photo features Zyla, who went above and beyond by using her own money to purchase a generous amount of donations for our shelter animals. Her kindness and compassion truly shine!

It’s inspiring to see the next generation making such a positive impact. Thank you, Lexi, Ben, NJHS, Zyla, and everyone involved, for your thoughtfulness and support — our animals (and all of us) appreciate you more than words can say! 💛🐶🐱

Onyx’s world changed in an instant. After tragically losing his owner, this sweet 7-8-year-old boy is searching for a new family to love him.

He’s a beautiful black cat with extra toes on his paws, making him a polydactyl! Though shy in the shelter, Onyx has a gentle heart and just needs time to feel safe again. He has lived with other cats before and could likely adjust to a calm dog(s) with a proper introduction.
