Meadow - Agent 9 Lives
UPDATE: ADOPTED!
Agent 9 Lives (AKA Meadow) is on a mission to find her forever home! 1 1/2 years old, already fixed, rabies vaccination & litter box expert!
HELP! We are working with the Alpena County Sheriff's Office Animal Control on a tragic hoarding case that needed emergency intervention. We have taken in 19 cats that are in various conditions. We arenβt open quite yet and are running 100% volunteer but we had to do something. All of these kitties need medical care - we canβt do this without your support!! Updates are coming but please help us get them the care they need!! Alpena County Sheriff's Office Animal Control
Winter update! As you can see, she has perked up after her trip to the vet, antibiotics, regular feeding and a lot of TLC from her foster family. π Her front paw is not functioning, but thankfully it's not causing her any pain. She's going to need a special adopter when she's healthier that will be able to help her heal from her amputation surgery that will be done the same time she is spayed. We've had several kitties needing more medical care these past few months, thank you to everyone who supports our mission to give these animals a second chance. We try to help where and when we can! πΎπ
Many of you may have seen the pleas for help from someone out in Hubbard Lake who found abandoned kittens it a ditch. Several of them sadly didn't make it past the first day of them being found, but there are 2 that have made their way into our care. They are fighters and we are there right by their side - babies like this need a great deal of extra care and we are fortunate to have an amazing foster family watching over them. Please help us continue to be there for littles like these - we are an all volunteer, community funded organization and only can save babies like this with your support. Please know that together we ARE making a difference for the animals in our community. ππΎ We will post more updates on how they are progressing!

And then there were 3 more. We were contacted about kittens in a woodpile at the North end of Hubbard Lake - no Mom around for some time and the kittens only about 3 weeks old. With the cool evenings upon us, we didn't have time to wait and see if Mom showed back up - they needed help immediately. One of our amazing fosters made a trip out to their reported location and was able to get three of them to safety. We are so full right now and adoptions are slow, but we can't turn away these sweethearts who need our help. If you are able to adopt, please look at one (or two!) of our amazing kitties available, if you can donate supplies like clumping litter or Purina one wet/dry kitten food we are forever grateful. If you are able to donate to help these kitties or those in the future, we appreciate your generosity. Together we are making a difference for the animals in our community.
Sunday morning kitten wrestling! These babies were rescued just in time before their "home" in an old tree was flooded. Thank You everyone who has helped give them their second chance!
Summer Fun with Rex the SpokesPURRson for Second Chance Animal Shelter
This is what our volunteers do on a Thursday night - kitten season is in full swing, and we are overloaded but sometimes you canβt say no . Thank you to everyone who helps us give these sweethearts a second chance. If you are looking to adopt, please consider one of the MANY kitties that we have - please message our page if you would like to add a new furry family member (or two)!
No "kitten" - we've got not one, but 8 more reasons we appreciate your support. These cuties were found dumped at a campground, but thankfully they were discovered and one of our fabulous fosters has taken them in. We are in full kitten overload right now, but we are their only chance. Our wish is that we can help provide more low cost spay/neuter options so that situations like this can be avoided - until then, we will give these babies the second chance they deserve. ππΎ
Kitten Adventures - the epic tale of finding a forever home! (turn up volume!)Kitten Adoption Event - This Saturday!
Itβs time!! Sneak Peek!!!
Shelters everywhere are full - overfull as a matter of fact and we are no exception. However, when a good samaritan contacts you about 3 abandoned babies that they are desperately trying to save, how do you say no? So we say yes. Yes we will try to shuffle around the animals we are caring for in our foster homes. Yes we will take on 3 more. Please (pretty please) get your animals spayed/neutered - it's the only way to end the cycle of so many kittens that have no place to go. It's rough out there for everyone right now, if you are able to donate any amount is is always GREATLY appreciated, if you can't donate - sharing our adoption posts is also a HUGE help - if we can get the animals we have adopted into their forever homes, we can do more. Thank you everyone who helps us care for babies like this - we truly couldn't do it without you. ππΎππΎ
