Today and everyday we are as thankful for our Chicagoland Pig Rescue community as Phoebe’s rescue pig Hadley is for her warm fireplace! Thank you for choosing kindness always. 💕
Lucy is a very, very special boy. ❤️
He is maybe one of the sweetest, most sensitive pigs we have ever met.
In fact, it took us multiple days of loading attempts to transport this sweet guy because he kept getting too stressed and scared to load into the car.
We absolutely LOVE this boy. (And yes, we love every pig we rescue.. but oh my gosh, we really love this boy!)
He talked to April a lot while he was being transported. He would look out the window very concerned, then turn to the front of the car and tell us all about it.
We are so thankful to the family that rescued him from the side of the road. And now we are so incredibly thankful to Scarlett and Malcolm of Figgy Farm Animal Sanctuary for giving Lucy his very loving forever home.
From the moment we unloaded him, Scarlett and Malcolm immediately started doting on Lucy- introducing themselves to him, checking him over, bringing him water and treats, and giving him lots of belly rubs..
It's exactly the right home for Lucy..
It's the type of home that we really searched hard to find for such a social, sensitive pig.
It's the kind of home we wish ALL pigs could have.
This happy ending is really a new beginning..
Now Figgy Farm Animal Sanctuary will be caring for Lucy for 10+ years!! Taking on the care of a new resident is a lot of work and very expensive.
If you are able to support Figgy Farm, your generosity will make TWICE the impact because they currently have a donation match up to $750 for Giving Tuesday!
You can also donate to them through Givebutter:

They have clickable links that you can find through their social media pages as well!

(Spoiler alert.. they LOVED IT! Definitely piggie approved)
The sweetest part? All this month, when you buy a pint of Tutti Frutti ice cream at Vaca's Creamery, the proceeds will be donated to CPR to help us save more pigs in need!!

New Rescue: Maxwell 🚨
New Rescue: Maxwell 🚨
Maxwell was purchased by a family in rural IL, along with 3 other pigs. One by one, Maxwell watched his friends disappear as they were taken away and butchered..
Eventually, Maxwell was the only pig left and living in a small area, belly deep in a mixture of mud, feces, and urine. The mixture was so bad that it was the cause of a baterial rash on Maxwell's skin.
The only reason Maxwell survived is because the daughter in the family fought tooth and nail to save his life. She stepped up and became his guardian angel. She found CPR, and we made the commitment to helping them both!
First we had to get Maxwell to our vet treat severe sunburn, a baterial rash, an eye infection, get him vaccinated, dewormed, tested for PRRS and Mycoplasma, and get him a CVI (certificate of Veterinary Inspection, aka- legal travel papers).
This was A LOT for Maxwell. He was confused and terrified but he was such a sweet guy throughout the whole process.
We then had to bring him to a temporary foster location for a week while we waited for his test results and CVI. Thank you to our foster partner Jenny for keeping safe and comfortable! Blue Winds Farm LLC
Thankfully, he was PRRS and Mycoplasma free! And we were able to obtain proper travel papers to... *drum roll please* 🥁 Michigan! Our friends at No Swine Left Behind graciously accepted Maxwell into their sanctuary!
We cant thank NSLB enough for offering Maxwell a home!!Watching Maxwell arrive at NSLB was emotional.. running on GRASS, hot panting, rolling, rooting, playing..!! It was just able as special as it gets!!
So heres the part that gets complicated..
At first glance, Maxwell appears neutered. However, once he arrived at NSLB, his behaviors indicate that he has cryptorchidism. That means he has at least 1 testicle that did not descend and is tucked up inside of him.
Maxwell will need a special, more extensive surgery for the hidden testicle. This is a HUGE expense that NSLB was NOT anticipat

Clarence, Jorge, and Zuzu exploring their brand new, HUGE pasture in their forever home at @saoirsepastures1
They have been settling in so nicely and seem to be so incredibly happy to be there TOGETHER!!
Wow! We are beyond thrilled for our sibling trio alumni!!
Thank you so much again to our friends at Saoirse Pastures for making room for them!!
Thank you to @phoebeclaire18 & @chessvalenti for making the cross country trip to New York to get them there!!
And we want to say again- thank you to our friends at @peakanimalsanctuary for fostering these kiddos for MONTHS while we worked out their forever home arrangements!!
It truly takes a village to work out these rescue cases, and we feel so fortunate to be working with the most incredible folks!
Zuzu's POV ❤️
We are so thrilled that we were able to keep these 3 siblings together! We worked really hard to make this happen for them. This is why we do things like take massive cross-country trips to transport pigs..
Because family matters, not just to humans, but to all species!
A herd is a family unit.
Arnold is looking for his forever home!
He was found as a stray roaming in Kankakee County.
Arnold is an little independent gentleman. He prefers exploring and grazing over cuddling. Because hey, he is an adventurous guy!
He needs a home with lots of outdoor space and maybe even a piggy friend of his own!
Arnold is a 3 year old neutered male. He is up to date on his dewormer and vaccines and ready for adoption!
If you are interested in adopting Arnold, send us a message & fill out our adoption application, which can be found on our website! 🐷❤️
