As I have said in the past, the spring is one of the best times of the year with turkey season upon us. But this year nature had a to throw a curve ball at us with the pandemic. Hopefully, everyone is staying home or close to home trying to stay safe. The shop has gotten a few turkeys in so I know some of you have been out but what better place to be but in the woods. The last one in the shop was a small 24 lb with nice thick beard it was a pretty bird and Jordan did not tear him up too bad. I have been staying close to home just working in the shop during this virus scare. But this Friday I am going to start my quarantine by moving to Pope County woods for a few days. I figure that has to be the safest place, the woods where social distance is no problem since you hardly see anyone. However you do see the ones you are camping with but after a couples of days of being in the woods no one get close, at least not down wind. So if during this time you are fortunate to get a turkey put him in the freezer and get a hold of me after third season. When my kids were growing up there was a movie that we watched several hundred times which was "All Dogs Go to Heaven". This convinced them that dogs were good and the final resting place was heaven. This past week I lost my sled dog, Ali, I hope and trust the movie was right all dogs go to heaven, I miss you puppy!!!
Be safe out there and practice social distancing and be sure to wash your hands and cover your mouth when you cough! If you are lucky and you want Cumberland Trail Taxidermy to keep the memory going give me a call, 618-267-3253, thanks Brad
