‼️‼️CODE RED EMERGENCY ‼️ ‼️
Update: everyone has rescue except Stewart! He still needs a place to go!!!
This is a very difficult post, but after almost 2 years of not having to euthanize except for aggression and sickness, we are at a terrible crossroads. We have been at or above capacity for over a month and barely keeping our heads above water with very few dogs leaving. We have a couple local rescue that consistently pull dogs from us, that we are so grateful for, but it makes it so difficult when there are a lot of local rescues who pull most often from out of area or out of state saying they are in crisis, when we are in crisis right here in their backyard!
Our town is at a crisis point in regards to stray or unwanted dogs. As an animal control facility, we cannot just not go out on calls or take in a dog running at large. We have to have open kennel space. There were EIGHT calls for different dogs before even 9am today.
With that being said, appointments are set for Tuesday for several dogs. In order to keep that from happening, we need to move more than just 1-2 dogs. These 6 are in IMMEDIATE danger. We need to move them NOW!
We can all be keyboard warriors, and scream from the sidelines, but until you are in the trenches with the animal welfare crisis, you probably have little knowledge of how bad the crisis truly is.
So what can you do? Please share, tag, make calls etc. Tagging PEOPLE rather than pages is more successful as many pages don’t get notifications of the tag. Or if you have a direct way to contact them. Foster for a local rescue or adopt so they can intake more dogs! Most importantly…SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS and keep them contained!!! We are doing everything possible on our end, but we cannot keep on like this.
💰 💵 All of the following dogs have $100 in sponsorship money thus far! Transport and health certificates can be arranged if needed. 💵 💰
UPDATE on Stella: SAFE. Going to rescue Monday!! Stella is just a baby around 5 months old. She is a sweet, playful puppy. 33 pounds.
