Okay we need to start fundraising. In the video is Autumn (Auggie’s sister). We have been having trouble with her mobility and back legs for quite some time now with many vet appointments and absolutely no answers. She is pretty immobile by herself but we have been working with her to try and get her moving.

As you can see in the video, just as i BARELY touch her back right leg with my fingertip, she is reacting with so much pain. We are calling the vet to see what further options we have.

We need your help, we are struggling now more than ever. Most of you remember our sweet hydrocephalus boy Auggie, he and his brother Austin are no longer with us- Autumn is the last surviving in the litter. We need to fight for her!😭

One year, ONE WHOLE YEAR of us being in Altoona!🥹

Moving into this space has allowed us to help so many more cats. We have so much planned for this coming year for the kitties and the lounge.

To most people, this is just a video of a cat walking, but if you have volunteered or visited us recently- you are just as happy as i am right now!

A few weeks ago, Emery declined very quickly and was completely paralyzed in her back legs practically overnight. She was walking around dragging her back legs, lost control of her bladder (that is the mess you see on the floor in the video, i was too excited to take a video before cleaning it), and she completely lost appetite.

I had seen this once before in my own personal cat, if you have been following us for a while some of you may remember Charlie. I knew what Emery had was neurological FIP. We immediately started her on treatment and she responded right away. She went from being completely paralyzed to this video i took this morning, WALKING! She will probably always have the bobble to her walk but other than that she is doing fantastic.

To the bad part. With all of the bills we have gotten recently, we are having a hard time staying afloat with everything and we really need to fundraise. We need to order more of Emery’s medication soon to finish her treatment, but we are drowning with all the other bills.

😻New Year, New $1 Challenge!😻

New year, new intakes. Pictured below is a senior kitty that was surrendered to us over the weekend. She is a 10 year old girl who is going to need some dental work done. We noticed in quick assessment that she is missing a canine tooth and she has badly inflamed gums. She also will just need standard exam to get tested for FeLV/FIV and UTD on routine vaccinations!

On top of this we have a $2200 bill to pay at one of our clinics and a $577 balance to pay off from the neuter event we attended just before the new year where we got 22 males fixed! Plus our weekly cost to keep all our kitties fed, clean litter, and just all around happy!

Our cat fund is sitting very low. We have 6,748 followers on our page- if everyone donated $1, we would have enough to pay these debts off and still have a nice chunk to jump start us for 2024! We have been getting lots of calls already and we fear that because the weather didn’t get super cold, kitten season is going to start even earlier this year. We really really want to get ahead of this so we can stock up and be ready!

As of 12:00pm, we are still planning to stay open until 5pm today! Not that we *want* you to be snowed in yere, but let’s be honest- name a better place to be snowed in at than a cat lounge full of cats😹

We’ve been really low on volunteers for the past couple of months due to ringworm. Now that we are recovering, we could really use some volunteers!🤩

We are here every morning at 9AM (changing to 7:30AM in 2024) cleaning away for the kitties! We function best when we have at least 3-5 people helping out daily.🩷

Daily cleaning includes:

•Scooping litter boxes
•Cleaning and refilling food/water bowls
•Sweeping
•Mopping
•Wiping surfaces
•Cleaning up accidents
•Cleaning kennels
•Laundry

FOUND CAT

This girl was brought into us this morning by a gentleman. This pretty girl wandered up to him last night and he kept her safe until morning.

She was found at the intersection of 13th St & 13th Ave in Altoona by the Cathedral.

If this is your cat, please contact us with proof of ownership and PA law required rabies vaccination.

If not claimed, she will be quarantined for 2 weeks where she will be fixed, vaccinated, and put up for adoption.

Okay guys, i’m in tears😭🩷

A couple of months ago i fostered 2 very sick puppies (Millie & Indie) until Central PA Humane Society had room to work their magic in finding them a home. Long story short, I just got a message from Millie’s (now named Pork) new owners letting me know they adopted her and they love her so so much!! She also loves her new doggy sibling Beanz!

Any word i would use to describe the joy i feel in my heart right now would be an understatement at best🥹🩷

Thank you SO much to Pork’s new owners and finally showing her what a true home full of love is!🩷

Our main focus right now is help with running the lounge during the week, help with organizing spay/neuter clinics, and help brainstorming for fundraising and events.

Very recently Bedford County Humane Society, Central PA Humane Society, and Abby's Angels Animal Haven took in over 90+ dogs from a severe neglect case. A lot of these dogs will need grooming, medical care (some more severe than others), and just tons of TLC after what they’ve gone through.

Abby’s Angels Animal Haven took in 17 of these pups so far, some needing some serious attention and TLC.

This weekend when we reopen after being closed breifly for the holidays, we will be donating all our proceeds from cat lounge visits to Abby’s to help offset what we know will only be a small portion of what the doggos need, but we still want to help in anyway we are able to.

We will also be collecting material donations for them as well. We will list the items most needed below, please pay attention to brands as this is what is most needed and we want to make sure they can use what is donated.

We have 22 cats and kittens loaded up and headed to Pittsburg to get fixed today! 🤩

We want to thank Nicole, owner of Abby's Angels Animal Haven for sponsoring all of the cats initial neuter package prices!!! 😭🩷🩷

We also want to thank the few sponsors who donated that will help cover some of the additional services such a combo testing and dewormer!🩷

We have about $400 we still need to raise plus $200 for the uhaul rental to get them there and we are purchasing extra flea meds and other much needed items that will cost $300.

We have a bunch of pet food pantry items that need to go! This food is either about to expire or has just recently expired (a lot still has a while before expiration). THIS IS FREE TO WHOEVER COMES AND GETS IT!

***THIS IS FOR FERAL OUTDOOR CATS ONLY! Expired food doesn’t always mean bad, it just means that full nutrition cannot be promised after expiration date. The food that is slightly out of date should be mixed in with food that is not expired to ensure the kitties still get enough nutrition***
