🚨🚨New Product Alert!!🚨🚨

Bark Bars and Quirkies.

When I place my pet food order I like to browse through the catalog and see if there is anything cool. Since we are more farm store than boutique pet store a lot of the cool stuff isn't really practical to bring in.

For as long as I've been at the mill we have always had a box of candy bars on the counter. Sure, we would sell some here and there, but really it was an excuse to have easy access to stuff our faces.
Because the cats knock everything on the floor we have not had candy bars for a while, but when I saw that these were on promotion I had to get a few boxes!

Quirkies are just fun shaped treats. These are shaped like the mail man and cats. They have others, including a few naughtier offerings, Sadly they were out of stock on those. I brought in two boxes. One for me, and one to sell.

I also had a request for hot pepper suet. Since squirrels have typical taste buds they hate it, but birds can't taste so it's fine.

If you made it this far I am overstocked on Back Gold dog food. It is currently $5 off per bag until it's gone.

I'm posting on a personal note today.

Today is . My wife, Jennifer Burget, received the gift of a legacy video. In fact, her's was the first. It was used to help Amadora become a 501c and in Jen's memory I have served as a board member since its inception.

Today I am asking for a donation in the Burget family's name. Even the smallest amount helps.
And if you know of someone that has a terminal illness or life limiting disease, please have them apply for a video of their own.

As the official feed of Santa’s reindeer the elf’s, Candy Cane and Bells, along with Rudolph, who magicly is in human form, have come to package up reindeer feed for all the kids to put out Christmas Eve.

As always these are available for a free will donation with all proceeds going to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Join us tomorrow at 6pm at the Historical Society to learn about the history of the Mill.

Join us for a program on Burget Mill on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 6 p.m.

Burget Mill is Altoona’s oldest family owned business. The mill has been in operation since 1896. Learn about the interesting history of this business from Tim Burget. Program will take place at the Altoona Area Historical Museum. Refreshments will be served.
Watch for announcements on other exciting monthly programs coming this year including… the history of the Altoona Police Dept., Adventureland, Indigenous people, the Kurtzweil’s, murder and crime, and more!

For those that raise chicken’s, I’m sure you are aware or have experience a massive slow down in egg production.

I’ve spoken to Kent and they are aware of the issue but have no real solutions. They have upped their QC, but does not think it’s a feed issue.

They suggested using a higher protein feed.
As such I have made a special batch of 18% mash. This will be a limited run but will make more dependent on popularity.

Luckily we did not have to rescue one of our cats this year.

It’s that time of year again!

The elves showed up to make a fresh batch of reindeer feed for Santa’s team Christmas Eve.

As always, they are free will donation with 100% of proceeds going to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Funeral at 10am Friday.

Again we will be closed on Thursday 12-1:30 for a private family visitation.
Also closed on Friday until roughly 1:30.

We have gotten a few request for t-shirts since we moved back into the office. I am placing a new order tomorrow afternoon so if anyone would like one we will be selling them for cost.

They will be $13 for S-XL and $15 for 2XL and up. They are available in unisex, ladies and kids.

Attached is the logo that will be on the front of the shirt as well as the color choices I plan to go with. Availability might force me to pick something else.

Also available will be a black polo with our regular logo in white embroidery. They will be $25.

If you are interested please let me know by noon, Wednesday.

If you miss out I will have a few available at our open house.
