Update on Jordyn!
Jordyn had a really good day today. She is up and eating on her own! Today she had canned chicken (thank you to whoever donated a ton of canned chicken to her!!) and her wet dog food! She is drinking on her own and no longer in need of fluids. Her puking has stopped and she is overall happier today. We’re hoping for continued progress!
Tail wagin Friday winner
And the winner is Deanna Lupettie for this weeks tail Waggin Friday 50-50! Please excuse the tardiness this week. Someone decided to take a vacation day for their Birthday and forget to pull the winner, so very sorry. Our animals thank you very much and we hope to see you next week for another tail waggin Friday.
Please email [email protected] with your information and address so we can send you your winnings ❤️🐾
Gordita is a girl's girl. 💅 She loves women. She is standoffish with males. She hasn't found the right guy that allows her to let her guard down.
She is 2 years old, vaccinated and spayed. She is an Australian Shepherd mix. She doesn't care to be alone. She can be a houdini at times.
She does like other dogs but living with them has presented some guarding behavior on Gordita's end. Perhaps she can be dog social but be the only dog in the home. However she can live with cats. Older children 10-12 years will probably be best for her especially if they are boys.
Applicants that have Australian Shepherd experience would be the best fit but we will accept anyone that Gordita is comfortable with.

Hi there, my name is Nelly, and I’ve just lived the first two and a half years of my life in a horror story! I was one of sixteen animals brought into CPHS by the humane officer from the place we called “home” in August of this year. I’m sure you can’t recognize me in this picture, but I promise it’s me! I look a lot different now after being bathed and shaved down. Oh, did that warm water and bubbles feel good!
I spent my days in my previous life living in my own feces with little to no food or water. We were all skin and bones, but you couldn’t really tell due to our matted fur. We didn’t know what a bath even was. The day they came to take us to the shelter, we had no idea how great our life was going to become. The vet at CPHS sedated us to be shaved down because it would have been entirely too painful otherwise. We received a full exam. Turns out, we all suffered from open wounds, severe eye infections, and ear infections. We were all prescribed antibiotics, as well as eye and ear medications. It sure was frightening at first to come out of our kennels and trust the hands that were slowly reaching for us. After a few weeks, we rea
