🚨THIS WEEKEND🚨
Our Annual "Barktoberfest" Regional Adoption Event is around the corner and you don’t want to miss it! We will have shelters from across the Southwest Region in attendance, each bringing their own adoptable pets. We will have many vendors and food trucks this year and even more things to do for the whole family!
We will have the Heaven’s Kitchen Below food truck, shopping vendors, a Police K9 demonstration, a live band, bounce houses for the kids, face painting, and SO much more! We will also have a raffle drawing for prizes from some of our awesome local businesses. We will have on-site restrooms available.
Come join us THIS Saturday, October 19th from 10am-6pm at the Jackson County Expo Center (412 Todd Ln.) in Altus, Oklahoma.
All proceeds from this event will benefit our area shelters and adoptable animals.

We are reaching out to the community to try and find owners for many of the animals here at the City of Altus Animal Shelter. We are at an all time high intake and are doing everything we can to find homes for dogs and cats, but we are out of space at this time. If you own one of these wonderful dogs/cats or know where they belong, please reach out to us.

We have fifteen dogs and eight kittens available today for adoption, help us find homes for our furry friends!

Our adoption process is very easy and does include spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, parvo distemper vaccination, bordetella vaccination and a lifetime city license for our furry friends.

The adoption fee for dogs in our shelter is $75.00.
The adoption fee for cats in our shelter is $45.00.
Come out and meet all our dogs and cats!

We have twelve dogs available today for adoption!

(Updated 4/5/23) - These animals are currently in the care of the Altus Animal Control Shelter. They are available for adoption or are currently in foster care. Please read each description. If in foster, notes will indicate if available for appointment or not currently available. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the shelter at 481-2285 ahead of arriving at our facility to meet the animals.

Hey friends!
We had the pleasure of picking up a litter of newborn puppies and are in need of a couple cans of milk replacer to help our awesome bottle feeders get them through. Donations can be dropped off at 2200 Enterprise Dr., any time Monday thru Friday. Thank you in advance!
