We are not sure why this sweet boy hasn't found his furever home💔🐾

Jack is 5 or 6 years old, UTD, house broken and crate trained. He loves to play and carry around his stuffed animals. Jack of course is looking for his furever home and would do best in a home without little kids. He loves other dogs and playing tugawar. Jack knows all his basic commands and is super well behaved. Everyone meet Zeus. Zeus is a 3yr-4yr old Newfoundland. He is utd on shots and microchiped. . He is well mannered and sits on command. He also walks well on a leash. Since this boy is big we prefer no small children. He is such a sweetheart ❤️🐾 Zeus is somewhat dog selection. 🐾 It's National Adopt a Less Adoptable Pet Week 🐾

Meet Orlando 💙
Orlando has come a long way since living on the streets w/a houseless man. He found himself in trouble & stuck on the side of a highway for weeks until volunteers were able to safely trap him. He has hip issues that may need surgery one day & is still very fearful of most people. He may live out his life at the Sanctuary unless he finds a special, patient Pawrent ❤️

Every time rescue is asked to take an owner surrender- we have to somehow make room on our little raft for that dog. When an owner says stuff like “I don’t have time to give them the best life” or “I have to move” or “they have too much anxiety” it really falls flat because that means if we bring them on the raft, another dog out there in the freezing water gets to die.
Every day in rescue we adjudicate life and death by gate keeping who can get on the boat.
Rescues and shelters are the tiny rescue boats.
The ship is our community at large.
The iceberg is comprised of puppy mills, careless owners, backyard breeders, and a$$hats who won’t spay/neuter.

Let us not forget all the homeless animals on the streets trying to survive until they either die or rescued.

Today our rescue is paying respect to the thousands of Firefighters,Police and Paramedics and unknown Heroes as well as to the almost 3000 victims from 9/11/2001
