Our Purpose

Here at Blackwater Doodles we strive to breed the best. We are specializing in hunting lines, service, therapy, and great family pets. A little bit about us, my husband has severe asthma and allergies and when we started dating of course the 50 million questions start. I have always been raised with pets and they were and still are a part of our family. They would stay inside, go on car rides, have fun out on the farm, they were pretty much raised and live like a human. My husband on the other hand had a few dogs but they were not as involved inside as mine were so that became an area of concern when we decided to get married. So how do you fix the problem, I couldn't have a pet that would only be an “outside” dog, you research, communicate, and find the best fit dog that could live inside and be a big part of our family but also not flare up my husbands health issues. So we got our first F1 goldendoodle!!! Now the rest is history! People ask why do you breed hunting doodles? Besides we are avid hunters, golden retrievers and poodles were bred as gundogs to retrieve waterfowl and upland birds. Hunting is bred into both of these breeds already so why would we not utilize what they enjoy doing. Now please understand that not every dog we have are hunting dogs, we have some that are specializing in therapy work as well and are also great family pets. It just shows you that their temperament and personalities work in many different areas.

We are a small breeding program that strives for the best. All of our dogs are FULLY HEALTH TESTED. They get PENNHIP, OFA hips/elbows/eyes/heart all the dogs must also clear genetic testing that we do through PAWPRINTS before we even consider breeding the dogs. All our dogs go through obedience training, CGC, and even gundog training depending on the drive of the dog.

We raise our puppies inside our home and handled daily. We start our puppies on puppy culture and ENS starting at 3 days old with early neurological stimulation through 16 days old. ENS has been proven to improve the overall health of the puppy from increased stress tolerance, stronger nervous, immune systems, better heart and respiration rates as well. Puppy culture is a program that represents a standard in puppy rearing and socialization. Puppy culture gives your puppies a great foundation and early training to make the transition and life easier once they go home.

We are recognized by Continental Kennel Club in their PREFERRED BREEDERS PROGRAM that holds us to the highest standards in health testing, education, and care of our dogs.
