I wonder if this is true. Supposedly purina 1 adds egg from these type of chickens to one of their cat formulas

Some months back I alerted of a crisis with circovirus (PBFD, Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease). The newest form of the virus is spreading across many species and is infecting adult birds. A recent case involved two Amazons. They were cared for by a friend in 1988 for about a year as their owner was moving. They remained healthy until about a year ago when they were sold by their owner. The new owner placed them in quarantined with some Ring-necked Parakeets Psittacula krameri that had been imported from Australia, which seem to carry a new, more virulent form of the virus. The birds as adults have developed full blown circovirus and are naked. During decades they were tested and proved negative until they came in contact with infected birds. Please test all birds entering your collection. Rescues cannot adopt infected birds because the virus is resilient and can be spread easily. This problem is occurring with one particular rescue in Florida who seems more eager for the adoption funds than the welfare of the birds. Aviculture is facing a major crisis-- be cognizant of the threat and test all new acquisitions.
