🐾 Panthera and Her Puppies!🐾

In 2024, we rescued Panthera, a sweet momma dog, and her puppies from Amarillo’s municipal shelter. Panthera and her pups spent months in our care—some time in foster homes, but much of it spent living in our shop as we couldn’t secure a foster for them. They battled ringworm and upper respiratory infections, but with time, care, and dedication, they made it through. 🐶❤️

This is where having our own facility would make all the difference. We could have provided these pups with more space, better medical care, and avoided the added stress of living in our shop. Panthera’s puppies and her journey remind us why we need a space to care for these animals in need.

🏠 Our Ultimate Goal for 2025: A New Facility for Rescue!

We are SO excited to announce that in 2025, we’re working towards opening our own rescue facility! This space will allow us to clear 20 kennels per trip at our municipal shelter partners, helping prevent overcrowding and giving animals a second chance at life. 🐶🐱

Back in October, we pulled 40 dogs in one day from one of our shelter partners who was in crisis. Some of these dogs went into foster care, but many had to be placed in boarding—an added expense we’re working hard to avoid in the future. With our own facility, we won’t have to rely on boarding, and we’ll be able to provide immediate care for this many animals in need.

It is with frustration and sadness that we inform you that Samson has been returned to AMW for a second time. His most recent adopter cites his "hyperactivity" as being unexpected and too much to handle.

Samson deserves to find an educated, competent adopter preferably with breed experience and commitment to the work it takes to raise such an active and intelligent breed, or else the cycle of rehoming and instability will continue. Going to a rescue is the best way to ensure proper vetting and education of adopters. Not to mention that Samson is absolutely miserable and stressed being confined to the kennel.

Samson is ~2 years old, neutered and now fully-vaccinated.

Since our launch in July 2024, Rebel Animal Rescue has saved over 250 animals, and we’re ready to save 500 more in the upcoming year! With your support, we’ll be able to rescue more animals, provide critical care, and give them a second chance at life. 💖

One of our very first rescues was Stitch, a sweet shelter dog who came to us with severe wounds from an embedded collar. After receiving care, he was placed in a loving foster home, healed, and was transported to Colorado. He’s now been adopted and is living his best life! 🐾❤️
