💜 Meet Bella 💜
Bella spent her whole life with a family who loved her, but when she developed a mammary tumor, things took a heartbreaking turn. At 7 years old, her tumor grew larger than a fist, open and leaking fluids…clearly painful and in need of care. Her family could not provide the vet care she needed and surrendered her to the shelter. Sadly, shelters cannot house dogs with open wounds like this, so Bella’s time was up today. 💔
But here’s the good news: Bella’s story doesn’t end there.
Our wonderful rescue partner, The Good Life Rescue in Nebraska has committed to her and she will be traveling there THIS weekend for the surgery and care she deserves! 🙌
While Bella tugged at our hearts, the truth is we couldn’t save her alone. We don’t have the funds she’ll need for extensive medical care, but Goodlife was able to commit, and thanks to their support, Bella will get the treatment she needs for a second chance at life.
We didn’t get a local foster offer in time, but we couldn’t just walk away. So today we played a little “doggy Tetris,” opened a kennel, and made room for Bella. When she arrived, she was so scared, the barking of the other dogs overwhelming her as she looked around, almost as if she was searching for her family. Within hours, though, she had already stolen hearts here at Rebel. 💕
For now, Bella is safe with us. We’ve given her a thick blanket and covered her kennel to shield her from the noisey neighbors…But what she really needs is a foster home; a clean, quiet, loving place to rest until she makes her trip this weekend. 🐾
We’re so thankful we could say “yes” to Bella—even just a temporary yes—because every yes matters. And with the help of our amazing rescue partners and supporters, Bella has a future filled with hope. 💙
