🐾 Help Us Spay Lulu 🐾

The Amarillo shelter had scheduled intake for a mama dog and her puppies, but before they arrived, we stepped in and brought them into our program. When our volunteer Rita went to pick them up, she discovered a surprise—another mama dog in active labor at the same home. That mama was Lulu, and of course, we couldn’t leave her behind.

Her puppies are now safe and thriving, and it’s finally time for Lulu to get the care she deserves—including being spayed so she never has to go through another litter.

🩺 Lulu’s spay at PETS Clinic will cost just $65, and we’re asking for your help to cover it.

💙 Roscoe was rescued just in time—and he’s been making the most of his second chance.

Saved from Canyon Animal Control at the very end of his deadline, Roscoe has blossomed into the sweetest, most joyful pup. He’s still waiting for a forever family, but in the meantime, he’s living his best life.

He’s been a total champ at doggy daycare—joining multiple playgroups with no problems and absolutely LOVING the water! 💦

🐾 What we’ve learned about Roscoe in foster care:
✅ Fully house-trained
✅ Crate trained and content when alone
✅ Knows sit, lay down, and paw
✅ Walks beautifully on leash, even in busy areas
✅ Dog friendly and growing more confident every day
✅ No food aggression, snuggly, and a great car companion

Roscoe would thrive in a home with another friendly dog, a calm and patient family, and lots of love. He’s affectionate, loyal, and so ready for a forever home to call his own. 💛

🚨 We’re Almost Out of Pet Food! Can You Help?

In the past week alone, we’ve taken in several cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies — and our food supply is disappearing fast. As of now, we only have enough dry food to get through the week. 💔

We urgently need Purina One dry food — for cats, kittens, puppies, and adult dogs.
🐶🐱 Any variety is helpful, and it’s a brand we know works well for most of the animals in our care.

Our transport van is hanging on with a temporary fix, but let’s be honest… Texas + July/August = dangerously hot. 🥵 And while we can handle sweat, our dogs and cats cannot.

These precious lives spend 6–9 hours in our van during transports, and without a real AC unit, it’s just not safe. Starting next month, we’ll be forced to pause large transports unless we can keep that van cool.

💸 We need to raise $1,000 to cover both the unit AND installation.
Every dollar gets us closer to keeping animals safe and moving toward forever homes.

🚨 P**P. EVERYWHERE. 🚨
Yesterday, we pulled 10 dogs from the Plainview shelter—8 are in our shop and 2 went straight to foster, but they’ve all got one thing in common: parasites galore. 🦠💩

We’re talking worms, coccidia, giardia—a true trifecta of digestive disaster. It’s a full-blown poopocalypse and cleaning it takes HOURS. Our mops are crying.

💊 We need $20 per dog to treat them and get their guts back on track—that’s $200 total to:
✅ Get them healthy
✅ Ensure they’re cleared for transport this weekend
✅ Save our sanity (and maybe our shop floor)

🚚 Why We Transport Animals Out of Texas

Texas shelters are overcrowded — not because the animals aren’t adoptable, but because there simply aren’t enough homes here.

That’s why Rebel partners with trusted rescues in other states — some foster-based, some shelter-based — where animals have a better chance at finding loving families.

💔 Take Maisie, for example:
She spent four long months at the Plainview shelter, being passed over again and again. Just as she was scheduled to be euthanized, one of our amazing rescue partners in Colorado stepped up to help.

Maisie traveled north in May, moved into a foster home, and within a month... she was adopted. Just like that, her story changed.

✨ That’s what transport makes possible — a second chance, a fresh start, and a happy ending.

Meet Ski Jump!

Ski Jump is a 3-month-old kitten with a curious spirit and a gentle heart. She started out a little more reserved than her brother, Bobsled, but she’s learning that people aren’t so bad—especially when they give good ear scritches. She enjoys being picked up and cuddled for short bursts, but when she’s done, she’ll politely let you know.

This little explorer has a knack for finding the most interesting spots in the house—especially if it involves potted plants. She’s fearless in her own quiet way and loves to perch in the window, watching the world go by. Ski mostly ignores the dogs in her foster home and handles their presence with calm indifference.

She’s just started to purr and chat in her sweet, high-pitched meows, and it’s clear she’s blossoming more every day. If you're looking for a thoughtful, independent kitten who still enjoys affection, Ski Jump could be the one for you.

Meet Bobsled!

This 3-month-old kitten is full of personality and charm. Bobsled is a little shadow who loves to follow you around, chatting the whole way. He’s all about attention and will happily soak up every bit of love you offer—especially if it involves your toes! Whether he’s nibbling, batting, or pouncing on them, your feet are his favorite toy.

He’s playful with his sibling and loves to zoom around the house. He’s also curious about the dogs in his foster home. While he was a little unsure at first, he warmed up quickly and now handles their antics like a pro.

Bobsled is cuddly on his own terms, and when he’s in the mood, he’s a total lovebug with a motor-like purr. If you're looking for a sweet, social, and endlessly entertaining kitten, Bobsled might just be your perfect match.

🐶Why You Shouldn't Shave Your Double-Coated Dog

Summer’s here, but shaving your husky, shepherd, or Pyrenees mix could do more harm than good!

Double-coated dogs have two layers of fur:
🔹 A soft undercoat that insulates
🔹 A coarse topcoat that protects from sun + heat

Shaving removes both, which can actually make them HOTTER and more prone to sunburn or skin issues.

✅ Instead: Brush often, provide shade and water, and keep walks early or late in the day!

🎉 ADOPTED: Timmy is now Dutch! ☕🐾

Timmy has found his forever home—and a brand new name to match his new beginning! Meet Dutch, a spunky, coffee-loving pup who has officially been adopted. 💙

Dutch’s first week home has been full of puppy energy, sibling introductions, a few stolen shoes, and some enthusiastic gardening (read: plant trampling). But through all the chaos, his new family has embraced every wild and wonderful moment.

His older dog siblings are still figuring him out, but the pack is settling in—and Dutch is clearly right where he belongs. Named after his new mom’s favorite coffee spot (and his own habit of trying to steal her cup!), he’s already made himself part of the daily routine.

We’re so happy for this little adventurer and the amazing life ahead of him. Cheers to Dutch, his forever family, and all the joy (and zoomies) to come! 🐶✨
