Every year, at Christmas, we are blessed with a very special pup that needs us. This year is no different.

we were contacted by our friends at county Animal shelter...they were looking for a rescue for a special needs senior pup.

Meet Walter...we are calling him Father Christmas.

Walter is a 15 year old long hair Chihuahua mix boy who is a victim of abuse and neglect.

Walter was rescued by county..he had a severely broken lower jaw and was emaciated.

He is now missing his lower jaw and all his teeth.

He is stable now and with us in long-term medical foster.

Walter will require additional medical care for the rest of his life...we have no idea what his extended medical expenses will be.

We would greatly appreciate any donations towards his care (and the care of the many medical needs dogs that are currently with us).

Latest update for tomorrow

(Saturday)..unless there is a change in the forecast overnight, we will open for puppy adoptions (pre-approved adopters) between 11-12 tomorrow

We won't be having meet and greet this weekend but will resume next Saturday.

Our team will be there taking care of the pups but we don't want folks on the road when the weather hits!!

As Christmas looms closer, our pups have worked hard to put their letters out to Santa this year and are so excited.

Many of them are also very practical and have help put together our Amazon wishlist for the Holiday Season.

Our pups do enjoy their toys, treats, blankets and soft comfy beds, but they also know that, while not as fun, there are so many items that the rescue needs to provide the best environment we can while they await their fur-ever homes.

Cleaning supplies such as bleach (not the splash less please), floor cleaner, mops, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, trash bags, wormer, flea and tick meds, canned food and the always needed and much appreciated Bounty Select-a-size papertowels.

We know the list seems extensive, but each of these items help to improve our pups happiness and health and are greatly appreciated!

Also very much appreciated are financial donations - medical care and utilities make up about 75% of our expenses, the rest goes to food, cleaning supplies and daily needs.

Financial donations help us provide excellent vetting care and you are always welcome to make a donation towards our accounts at My Pets Vet, My Pet's Vet - Eastgate, Adams County Veterinary Services or Cincinnati Veterinary Surgical and Wellness Center which are our primary vets -

I'm Sophia and I am in a medical foster with a wonderful family.

Santa, I am asking for people who can offer help to all my fellow rescue pups at ADCFH.

I would be so thankful for every donation made in my name to the rescue to help pups that have not been as blessed as I have.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE MAX'S SECRET SANTA PLEASE LET US KNOW!!

Hi Santa,

My name is Max and I have tried to be the best boy I can!!

I have had a bit of a hard life and really hope that you put me on the "good dog list"

I would really like a warm fluffy blanket to curl up in...I like snuggling. I also like toys that squeak or crinkle.

I have skin issues and am hoping to get a bottle of Bannix spray that helps my skin and makes me feel so much better.

If you can send a couple of boxes of disposable gloves size medium and size large for my human friends here at the rescue, I know they would be very thankful.

I love you Santa..thank you for helping me find a safe place to heal.
