Highest Placed Rookie Award for the Aiken Showcase 2025.

Laurel ICF is an 8 year old, 16.1 h, Trakehner mare that has competed through the preliminary/2* level.

She is a very careful show jumper and a cross country machine. She has been thoughtfully produced in Boyd Martin’s program for the past few seasons.

Conrad Equestrian was out in full force this weekend at the Jumping Branch HT. Alex competed 11 horses from Preliminary to BN. The horses put in some strong performances with a few top placings. We have hit the ground running this winter season. A big group of up and coming youngsters and sale horses have already been to Bruce’s Field and the Apple Tree Farm schooling shows. Special thanks to Antonio Roderiguez for helping me ride these guys at their first few outings here in Aiken.

About Alex Conrad

During his high school years, Alex spent his summers working for international event rider Beth Perkins. He then went on to work for 4 star event rider Ashley MacVaugh while attending Boston University. After graduating, Alex moved to PA to be a working student and eventually assistant rider for Ryan Wood. There he gained invaluable experience riding sales horses, schooling competition horses, starting babies, conditioning upper level horses, etc. Alex particularly enjoys working with young horses and off the track thoroughbreds. He is very excited to have recently started his own business and is working hard to get some promising young horses to the upper levels of the sport.

Alex is currently based out of the beautiful Fox Race Farm in Amenia, NY but frequently teaches in both Hamilton, MA and Durham, NH.
