Happy National Black Dog Day!!🐕‍🦺🐾

Colleen Paige, pet lifestyle expert and author, founded National Black Dog Day
on October 1, 2011.

She did this to do away with this harmful stigma, encourage black dog adoption, and celebrate the beauty of dark-colored dogs everywhere. Black dogs often face adoption biases and stay in shelters longer.
Well..that’s what we thought when we saw this dark haired cutie on Oct 18, 2016 at the Humane Society of the North Bay. We thought Booker was old then and wouldn’t get adopted. Oh were we wrong!!

Yesterday was a fun day meeting the furry Residents of Ruby Hill at the 1st Annual Pet Pawrade!🐾🐶

It was filled with lots of yummy Treats (for humans and fur babies) ,Training, Prizes, and adorable pups for adoption too!
