We wanted to first start by thanking you for your support over the last two years!

Over the last year as we've expanded our retail partnerships and footprint in the pet industry, we've been approached multiple times by big brands in the pet industry to private label Nashies. Our goal has always been to create treats that have the highest quality human-grade ingredients so that we felt comfortable feeding them to Nash (and now Maverick too). Ancillary to that is to make a dent in the pet industry by pushing innovation through the power of freeze-dry technology.

We've made the strategic decision as a team to pursue these incredible opportunities so that we can have the biggest impact, but in doing so, it requires us to discontinue the Nashies brand so that we can perform to the best of our abilities as a team.

So what does this mean?

1.) We will be fulfilling final Nashies orders between now and September 15, 2022. You can place an order for any amount that you'd like, until we run out or we get to September 15, 2022 -- whichever comes first. We are offering an additional 40% discount on all orders. You'll also get free shipping on orders over $50 (which is 6 bags of treats). Use the code: BYENASH at checkout!

2.) Nashies.com will officially turn off on September 15, 2022. At that point, we will no longer be accepting orders.

This is certainly a bittersweet moment for us. However, this is the biggest opportunity for us to make our dent in the pet industry and we are incredibly grateful for your support! Thank you for everything over the last several months. We are very excited for the future!

What is a difference between freeze drying vs. dehydrating?⁠

These two terms are often used like they mean the same thing, when in reality, they are very different. Today, we're going to cover vitamin preservation!⁠
⁠
Now, let's get a little geeky shall we? 🙃⁠
⁠
When you dehydrate foods, vitamins and minerals break down very rapidly during this type of preservation process, meaning less nutritional value is retained. The process of dehydrating tends to result in the loss of Vitamins A and C, thiamine, riboflavin and niacin. ⁠

This doesn't happen when food is freeze-dried. According to research by the American Institute for Cancer Research, freeze-dried foods retain the majority of the vitamins and minerals found in the original foods.⁠

That's a pretty big reason to choose freeze-dried! Because, what's the point of paying for a treat for our pups if there is little to no nutritional value?⁠

I have a serious question for you... are you ready? 🧐

Would you eat a dog treat? 🧀

😂 😂 😂 😂

When we ask people this question, we get a quick "HECK NO" response! But when we tell them are 100% human grade ingredients (and the same ingredients we use in our sister companies backpacking meals for humans), they are a bit more open to trying .

When we have them try the Cheese Chunks, they're hooked and then we get a typical response along the lines of "These taste better than Cheez-Its!" 😆

Y'all, this is the kind of treats we should be feeding our dogs. Treats that are high quality, human grade, REAL food... food that you'd be willing to eat too! That is why exists! 😉

This past winter, we stayed at Camp Margaritaville Auburndale and every morning, we'd walk with the boys up to the front office for their morning Nashies treats and hugs from Renee (see last photo).

It became our sweet morning tradition and we all loved it. I laugh though, because we obviously had the same treats in our RV, but they must have tasted better from the market. 😂

Why freeze drying?

Easy! Freeze drying locks in nutrients (and flavors) much better than other drying methods!

How?

Freeze dried foods are picked and preserved at their peak ripeness and when their nutrient content is highest. That means it’s super comparable with fresh product you get at the farmer’s market. But with freeze drying, it’ll last you much longer! You're welcome! 😉

Why did we choose to freeze dry ?

Simple! ⤵️

Freeze drying gives food a longer shelf life without using preservatives and also maintains the food’s original nutritional value, flavor, and shape. Pretty cool, huh!

We launched in April 2020.

Did people think we were crazy to start a business then? 100%.

Did we? Not at all.

We knew there was a huge gap in the pet market and a huge need for high quality, single ingredient dog treats. We experienced this need first hand when we brought Nash home and we knew it needed to be filled, even when the timing was less than perfect. We knew once other pet parents were introduced to , it would fill a need they experienced too. So at a time when many businesses were scaling back (rightfully so!), we launched forward in faith.

Business isn't easy. The path is never straight. But wow, are we grateful we took that step forward over two years ago.

This is just the beginning, friends and there is so much more to come! Thank you for being a part of our journey, whether you just joined the fun or if you've been here since the beginning. We are grateful for your trust and your support to continue to bring you the best treats for your pup!
