Tweety was brought in from the City of Americus and her owner did not come for her. She is just over a year old and heartworm positive. She likes our big chocolate lab (who has a rescue) but grumbled at our hound dog so is dog selective. We have zero options for her unless a rescue or someone from the community saves her life. She has until 9am Thursday, August 15th.

Bob came to us in mid-April and stayed about a month then traveled to our partner in Florida. We kept checking their web site and every time we saw his face still on there it made us sad. WELL - good things come to those who wait. We have never gotten so many pictures from an adopter. Bob has hit the jackpot with his forever home. Enjoy!

It's been a long and winding road with many twists and turns. She had a home, a rescue, another home, and they all fell through. But - it finally happened!! Our Bessie has left Georgia. Bessie came mid-April - elderly, with mammary tumors, and heartworm positive. We just could not give up on her and thankfully Dr. Sawyer let her stay in the clinic office all this time. She had multiple surgeries, was spayed, and her heartworms treated. Every time we thought we had her safe led to disappointment. Finally, one of our wonderful partners in Maine said "send her on" and she loaded up yesterday. A huge thank you to Whispering Pines Animal Hospital, Road Trip Home for transporting, Animal Rescue League of Greater Portland for agreeing to take her in, and to those who donated to help fund her care. Get out the hankies when you watch this video.

A very exciting day! We put three of our big dogs on a plane to Michigan! Whoo Hoo!! Saint, Kyan, and Tonks are on their way to Livingston County Animal Shelter. A big thank you to Pilots for Paws, Christy Peterson at the Michigan Shelter, and our own Bridget Durfee for putting this all together.

We had volunteers in today and look at our old Pointer showing off his good manners. We named him Beemer and a huge thank you to PointerRescue.Org for saving him. Beemer leaves us the end of the week.

We had Suki (white) and Dodge (black & white) in the play yard today. Both are altered, fully vetted, and microchipped. Suki is heartworm negative and Dodge heartworm positive. Suki is a super laid back girl who just wants to be your friend. Dodge was adopted and returned through no fault of his own other than he is a young active boy who was shut in an apartment all day. Both around one year old. Adoption fee $100. If you can't adopt please talk to your friends and family.

Why hasn't this guy been adopted!! Carlos is great. Well behaved. Super smart. A big boy @ 70 pounds. Heartworm negative. 3 years old. Perfect health. $100 adoption fee gets you full vetting including neuter and microchip. A staff favorite.

Ended July with a flurry of adoptions. So happy our kittens and a few dogs have found their forever homes.

One of our girls that went North way back in 2017: "We adopted a dog that originally came from your shelter that you found as a stray. Her name was Madison, now called Maddie. We adopted her in Maine from Three Dogs Rescue back in 2017, and she is still enjoying an active life. She loves swimming, hiking, playing with her squirrel stuffy, and lounging on the couch. "
