Can you spot the differences? Knowing where to look is key!

When a horse is thin, fat first accumulates around the body organs and along the base of the spine. As a horse gains weight, the following parts of its body will fill out in this order:
Withers: The area between the shoulder blade and spine will fill in with fat, making the withers appear rounded.
Loin: The area behind the saddle will fill in with fat, making the spine less prominent.
Tailhead: Fat will fill in around the tailhead, making it less noticeable.
Neck: The neck will fill out with fat.

ALL HORSES HAVE QUIRKS.
I'll say that again. Every. Single. Horse. Has his/ her own quirks. You can either live with them, or you cannot and the horse will never be a good fit.

Moose is invaluable to us here. If someone offered $30,000 I may pretend to consider it for a week or two, but I'd still turn it down.

Moose spends almost all of his time interacting with humans in freeze mode. He does not like busy or loud scenes, he does not like strangers, he does not like big emotions, he does not like change. But does he try his heart out? Oh yes!

In the wrong hands, with the wrong partner, he'd be labeled 'screw loose' and 'explosive '. One person's 'worthless' is another's 'priceless'.

Find your 'invaluable'. If it's not the horse you have, help that horse move on to a home where it can be 'invaluable' and search for your 'invaluable'. The horse you'd pretend to consider a high dollar amount on, but in reality no amount of money would buy them.

We're lucky enough to have 2 of them here! Moose and Betty White, both have been fully trained by us here at Dynamite Horse Co.

2 weeks and although it's hard to see, the weight gain IS there! Slowly but surely.

I think his neck and head have filled in the most so far, although his top ribs look so much better!

There's still a long ways to go, but once we get over the hump weight gain will be fast.

Onward and upward ❤️

Maizy- 15yr old TWH mare standing roughly 15hh

What won't Maizy do? She has no spook and is a confident mare that will do whatever you ask of her.
Arena riding and loping circles? Sure, no problem!
All day trail rides? Let's go!
Working cattle? Yeehaw!
Obstacle course? Plan to win!
My 7yr old has put Maizy through the paces and she's happily done whatever is asked!

Maizy handles well all around and gaits out nicely. Expect her to pace. She does have w/t/l as well. Rides soft in the bit, can be a little bit stubborn to back up. She'll stand all day under saddle or tied and will line up and stand by anything for mounting.

Maizy does get sour with an ill fitting saddle. She'll get stiff at the lope, and hump up. She is not a rodeo bronc, and does not offer anything that will unsteat the rider. THIS IS ONLY WITH BAD TACK FIT. I ride in a treeless saddle and she's NEVER even refused to move forward, absolutely no shenanigans. It's always a yes ma'am ride.

Have you ever heard of refeeding syndrome? A starved horse will go into shock if given too much food too fast. And surprisingly, they're pretty good at self regulating!

It's been 1 week exactly, and this gentle geldings top ribs are starting to fill in! Or I've just seen him every day and am getting desensitized to his extreme condition.

And he's finally settling in here. He felt safe enough to sun bath starting Tuesday afternoon!

Trails are SO good for all horses. Prioritize getting out of the arena this month! And don't forget, there's no such thing as bad weather.
